Went for dinner with the wife and Swiss chalet is not what it used to be. Food was ok, portion was smaller than usual and presentation was bland. Service was rushed and I felt like I was bothering everyone. I’m assuming it’s an employee shortage issue. Not a great night out, disappointed, but we will be back.
We went for lunch, against our better judgment, as the past 3x we've been here it was so disappointing and awful. Last time we were there with the Grandson's hockey and we were there 2 hours before we got our food.nToday same , slow on the food, then came out over done on the appy, we sent it back, second wasn't much different. We did notice that perhaps they had change suppliers as the spring rolls were 100% different and tasted terrible.nThe quesadia was burnt, but hubby doesn't like to cause a scene. We will never go again, nor will we go with the hockey crowd.nWe weren't the only ones complaining as we left.

Honestly the only thing Swiss Chalet has going for it is that it’s a quick family restaurant with predictable food and this location can’t even do that right. We have been twice before and waited and extraordinarily long time for everything from placing a drink order to receiving our bill. We gave it one more try tonight as an easy family restaurant for my son’s 3rd birthday. We waited over 30 minutes to even be greeted by our server. Then waited close to an hour for food. We also ordered and appetizer and asked for the kids meals to be brought out to right away. Everything came out at once and was cold and had clearly been sitting. When you’re managing young kids this just doesn’t work and it’s sloppy and poor service regardless. We then told the server specifically it was my son’s birthday and she neglected to mention that the location doesn’t sing, light a candle, or anything until after they brought out the dessert and placed it in front of him. it was obvious that our intention was to sing for my sons birthday. It seems like a small thing but I’m sorry the policy sucks and we should have been made aware of it as soon as I mentioned the birthday. We absolutely won’t be back this was clearly the third strike of three bad attempts at eating here. It was a waste of money and a frustrating end to a birthday.
I have ordered pick-up from this Swiss Chalet a few times now and each time we do the food is never ready at the time they provide, and I end up standing foolishly with about 12 other customers cramped into their take-out room hoping to for my name to be called for at least 15 extra minutes, usually longer. Not only is their take-out horrible, but the 2 times I decided to eat in the restaurant it took well over an hour for them to bring the food out. By the time we were given our seats until the time it took to leave it was well over 2 hours and we didn't order appetizers or desserts. The only reason I gave this business 2 stars was because the food is good if you don't mind waiting forever to get it. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else, I know this will be the last time for me.
