Fantastic local bakery. They have amazing staff that are a pleasure to work with. My technology challenged grandparents were able to order a cake through them all the way from Australia. Not to mention that it was DELICIOUS!!! So far we have had their Christmas cake, at it was so good we went and bought another. Looking forward to the Christmas Plum Pudding that we are eating tonight!
So nice to have Sweet Thea Bakery in Vancouver, when we cannot get out to Langley. Free street parking around Quebec St and E 28th Ave. Called to put aside two loaves for pick up. Very nice service on the phone and at the counter. Everything looks delicious. In Langley we tried the Campagne and the Whole Grain & Seed, which were both fantastic. This time we got the Nine Grain Honey and the Garlic & Rosemary. The Nine Grain Honey was so good. You can see all the different grains in the slice and it has different textures as you chew it. This bread is really good with sandwich toppings. I would not toast it too long as you then lose all those textures and flavours. The Garlic & Rosemary had a nice woodsy smell and you can see pieces of the herb in the bread. There are also small and large pieces of garlic throughout. Toasted, it gives off an amazing smell. I prefer this one with just some olive oil or oil and vinegar. Sweet Thea Bakery continues to please us with their breads. The crusts are thin and flavourful and the insides are moist with wonderful aroma. I am sure we will make our way to their sweets soon! Daniel
I ordered a small loaf of rugbrød Danish rye bread via the website. It is very flavourful with the lovely tanginess from the sourdough fermentation. The ordering and pick-up went smoothly and efficiently.
I was very happy to find a good traditional bakery on Main Street! It only opened for 5 weeks. I hope this bakery will run well despite of the pandemic. Everybody likes bread and eats sandwiches, right?! Servers here were friendly. They provided their menu, so I could read what ingredients each loaf of bread was consisted of. Unfortunately I could not buy all the bread and try them all at once. I bought a couple loaves of bread. One was the whole grain and seeds and the other one was roasted garlic and Rosemary. Both tasted great! I loved them. The bread skin was crunchy and it was soft and moist inside. I also bought a bacon and cheese scone for snacks. Its size was a bit small and cost $3.75. It tasted good as well. I would love to come back here and buy other bread, so I can compare and see which ones I like more. They also sell sweets or cakes as well. Again I would like to try them one day.
I had first tried their baked goods at local fairs and markets and so glad they were open a storefront on Main Street. Their baked goods are fresh, delicious and not overtly sweet. You can tell that everything is made with care, love and quality. They are fairly priced and I can't wait to go back and try everything else. I would recommend you check them out. It's the time to support a local business and their staff are so kind and attentive!
love everything in this bakery! I had my first visit the bakery last week and tried their pumpkin pie, apple hand pie and almond croissant. all are very good! I will come back to order christmas cake from them!
They are community-minded and promote local produce. They bake fresh goods every day by hand, and only use high quality ingredients - often from market vendors. No preservatives, corn products or stabilizers. Breads are naturally leavened without commercial yeast. We particularly enjoyed the chocolate croissant, spinach and feta snail, and ham and cheese croissant.
Ordered a chocolate pistachio cake and picked up without difficulty. The cake was delightful both in first bite and first sight!
The red hair employee is super rude in this store. When we purchased a box of cookie, the price tag is $25but they charged us $30. When we returned to the car, we realized we were charged $5 more. Back to store asked why were overcharged. The employee just said we changed the price this afternoon, super rude and offensive without one word of apologies. Except that, we bought 8 Croissant they stacked all 8 in a paper bag without a box. If you wanna charge customer tips, we expect better services. Not looking for a refund, just wanna owner know that your employee need to be trained and the rude one is affecting the reputation and image of your store. Will never come back again.
That amazing add to the Main Street foodie options, excelente German Bakery, cosy place with very good options of sweet and savoury and some gourmet items to shop on the way, very nice customer service. Love it all and will come back
