If you’re looking for the best custom cakes ever, ask for Hannah! This girl is absolutely incredible! She’s creative, kind, caring, helpful and the most talented cake decorator in Utah! I have ordered 4 cakes so far, and each one of them blew my mind! Not only are they gorgeous and so fun… but they are incredibly delicious! I hope Hannah keeps making these spectacular cakes for many more years to come. We are customers forever! Thanks Hannah, & Sweet Cake Bake Shop!
I read a lot of comments that said the service wasn’t great, however we found that to be complete opposite with our experience. First time going in and they were extremely kind and patient with all of our questions. Offered us recommendations and wrapped up our choices nicely so they would travel well. Didn’t feel pressured to hurry and left wanting to come back and try more. Took off one star just because the cupcakes we got were off a smidge in texture. Almost a touch dry. But we will still go back and try another. I like that they offer vegan options as well as the gluten free. Overall a good experience. I hope they succeed in the area.
Absolute best gluten-free bakery I have ever found. Worth it for the lemon bars alone. Sunflower sugar cookies are out of this world. If you get a muffin with frosting, let it come to room temperature and the frosting will be much better. Go here and you will not be disappointed.
By far the best gluten free dessert I've ever eaten! Due to some crazy circumstances our original bakery had to cancel my daughter's wedding cake. They were able to fit us in with a couple week's notice. They were so professional in setting up the cake and adding the ribbon and flowers. Our gluten free bride and guests were very happy they did not need to worry about contamination from regular baked goods as this shop is 100% GF. I am not from Utah, but will make a point of stopping at their shop the next time I am in town.
I was mind blown coming in here. Not only is the shop itself absolutely adorable, but everything is gluten free and celiac friendly! Incredibly delicious and such a treat. You truly can't get better than this.
We love this place - their take n bake rolls have breathed new life into my wife's old love for bread. We try to always keep some in the freezer. My wife's go to is their chocolate chip cookie and sweet rolls, my favorite are their Oreo brownies. My daughters always ask for their cupcakes
Cupcakes dryer and grittier than I remembered, and the flavor combos just weren't there. I got a turtle cupcake and an almond joy cupcake, both plain chocolate bases. The flavors were just weak, all I could taste was the chocolate, especially on the turtle. The cake itself was crumbly and dryer than I think it used to be at the old location, and there was a distinct mealy texture to it. Fine, but disappointed. Not worth the price.
Ali at Sweet Cake Utah, did an awesome job! She over came a few fires to make everything come together for our wedding Funfetti cake and our whoopie pies and cookies we ordered. Our gluten free family members were so happy as well as our non allergy family members! Thank you for making delicious goodies for our wedding! They were absolutely tasty and beautiful!
Celiacs and other gluten free people, rejoice! This bakery has sweet goods so delicious they’re exceptional even when compared with their gluten-containing counterparts. I also got the dinner rolls, which exceeded my expectations. My non-celiac friend wasn’t as impressed with the rolls, but they’re by far the best gluten free rolls I’ve found, and I find them to be satisfactory; big, soft, non-crumbly, and tasty. Do yourself a favor, and get something delicious!
I wanted to love this bakery, I really did. But no matter how many chances I gave them, it was always a bad experience. I had a wedding in November and attempted to get a hold of this bakery for 3 weeks so I could order an assortment of items. Every time I called or emailed, I would not get a return call or email back until I finally just asked for the owner's number. From there, I thought things would get better. But I called several times after that to ask questions about my order, just to be told, "everything is fine." However, I called the day before my wedding and they had no idea what order I was talking about. Thankfully, I kept my invoice that I paid months prior so that they couldn't claim I didn't place an order which is what they tried to tell me. After spending 40 minutes on the phone, they finally found it. Then, come to find out that when I sent my mother in law to pick it up the next day, they were nothing but rude to her and acted like they were put out due to the "last minute order." Which was no fault but their own. Fast forward 2 months. I called the bakery and looked up their hours of operation to confirm that they open at 9 am on Saturdays. I planned an entire event around being able to pick up some treats at 9 am just to arrive at the bakery to a sign saying they are opening late that day to train new staff. In my experience, you don't delay opening to train new staff, your new staff comes in early to be trained. But either way, it was not communicated via phone when I called. A sign on the door is not sufficient. On top of all of this, I made the mistake of referring some future brides to them, just to be told the same stories of terrible and rude communication. I know of at least 3 brides that have taken their business elsewhere because it's that bad. Unfortunately, their quality of food doesn't negate their terrible service. I really hope that they get better communication and customer service skills in the future. But until then, I won't be returning and will warn my friends as well.
