Swap N Shop is now Ottawa's largest pawnshop! Our new location is two floors, with over 6000 Sq. Ft of bargains.

Five minutes inside the Swap N’ Shop on Merivale Road and you are ready to slap yourself on the forehead- ” I just bought that for twice that price at a big box store, and here is the same one, minus the wrapper, for less than half the price.” It happens all the time, since the store opened twenty years ago.

People buy that brand new power tool, home stereo, game system etc. for full price, only to find the exact same one, slightly used, but in great working condition, for a fraction of the cost. We have a variety of different products such as collectibles, electronics, gaming consoles, video games, jewelry, power tools, sporting goods, home/car audio, musical instruments, and much more! We will pay the most in the city for your merchandise, as well as top dollar on collateral loans. We also offer title loans on vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, trailers, boats, ATV's, etc.

Most pawnshops give an in-store credit for damaged goods, but here we test everything before we buy it and are so confident in our product that if you are not satisfied you get your money back with our 30 day warranty.

Pawnshops have a bad reputation, a sad fact we struggle to overcome on a daily basis. But we treat everyone fairly and with the respect every customer deserves. Our best advertising over the years has been word of mouth through customer satisfaction. People that come in here once come back again, especially kids. We’ve had parents tell us their kids can’t wait to come back and look at all the games, toys and bicycles again, and go home with a treat.
Swap N’ Shop follows all the government laid out rules and regulations. By law, you have to be 18 years or older, with photo I.D to sell or pawn any item. All items are held for a mandatory 30 day period and are verified by Federal and Provincial Police Departments.
We deal directly with wholesalers and get good deals that we can pass on to our customers. Everything is always on the move, so that every week or so there is a whole new store to come and browse through. We also get return items from a number of big box stores. Most are returned because the customer changed their mind about owning it, not because the item is faulty. Most things either work or they don’t. If they don’t, we aren’t selling them.

Swap N’ Shop is about more than just electronics. We have a wide selection of Gold and Silver Jewelry, watches, rings, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings, etc. Silver we sell brand new, Italian .925 and as for our gold, everything gets professionally polished before it hits the display case, so that it looks as good as new when you buy it. As most of our customers say, ” You’d think it was bought from a jewelry store.” Except that jewelry stores mark items up as much as 1,000 percent! Crazy eh? We Know! That’s why we’re here for you.

We have all kinds of power tools, for your construction needs. In here, you’ll see brand names such as Dewalt, Makita, Hilti, Stihl, Ridgid, Milwaukee, Husqvarna, Snap On, Porter Cable and much more. We have lawn mowers, shop vacs, chainsaws, quick cuts, air compressors, table saws. You name it, and the chances are, we’ve got it! And with more than 200 potential customers in and out per day, Swap N’ Shop is growing by leaps and bounds.
