We were invited to a dinner to hear the presentation offered by Mr. Swanson. They offered a complementary consultation on their financial planning services. Due to a busy schedule, it took me several months to call back to book an appointment. We both have pretty busy schedules and it can be a challenge to find a time where we can both come in. I spoke with Tessa who answered the phone and I told her we would like to book an appointment. She said Mr. Swanson was out of the office but he would call me back as soon as he returns. I informed her that it would be impossible for me to take a call today but if he could at least send me an email to let me know if he has time on his schedule, that would be very much appreciated. Then I got an email from Michael Higuera about 10 minutes later asking me to give him a call to "talk for a few moments". He said, "we don't do email". I cannot imagine that Tessa did not make it clear that I am not able to be on a phone call since he did, in fact email me to call him. Even though I was not in a position to be on the phone, as I had already made that very clear, I did call him back so that I would be able see if we could secure an appointment on the following Friday. He started in with wanting me to answer all the questions in our financial situation. This was clearly more than taking a few moments to have a chat about an appointment. He wanted to know everything that is in our financial papers, how much money we have in bank accounts, our investments, when are we retiring, on and on. Remember, I am not in a place where I can be on the phone and they all knew that. I just wanted to make the appointment. Plus, why should I be discussing all of this with Michael, who is he, when it is the financial planner we are looking to sit down with. It was getting very uncomfortable. During the interrogation, I told him that I really cannot have this conversation right now. He told me that Mr. Swanson would not be in the office on Friday anyway. A real customer service representative would have said that right from the beginning. Plus, we have been to a few financial planners running the same business model and not one employee of the financial planner professionals have put their nose in our financial information. I had already made it clear that I had no availability to be on the phone, and I said to Michael that I would call back next week. His response to me was, "Don't Bother"! As I started to read through other reviews, I noticed that Michael has been mentioned a few times. It appears I am not the only one who was not impressed with his customer skills. In closing I would like to add that I am not a supporter of leaving bad reviews for a business. I work in the Internet marketing space and I think it is better to work things out offline, but this guy crossed a line and the last thing I want to do is try to have a conversation with a business that tells me "don't bother' when I tell him I will call back next week.

Last dinner My wife and I attended,we were waiting to be called to line-up for the buffet. His OLDEST son got my attention and called me outside. He stated that I always come to the dinners and NEVER become a client. "We don't want you to ever come back to our free dinner invites. I have never been so embarrassed , humiliated, or angry as i was and still am to this day!!!!The son's Father has ANGER MANAGEMENTissues. Watch him, he is just below blowing up when things are not going right He also has the room temp set very cold.
Our 15 minute consultation was very focused and so informative. Thank you for taking the time to speak with us about our future. Looking forward to our next meeting.
I really appreciated David seeing me in so quickly, especially due to Thanksgiving this week. Him and his whole staff really made me feel like I was valued and important, I highly recommend!
I went to several retirement and Social security seminars. Swanson financial is the most rudist company I ever experienced. They do not treat prospects right. This means they do not treat customers right.
He shared with another professional to watch out....That I would sue him. I was just trying to help my mom with her estate and he was not a nice person. I would not recommend him. I have no intention to sue anyone. Honestly, I was very saddened about his attitude.
The people there are very professional and courteous. I like the conservative attitude and I think it will make our retirement much easier. Thank you Dave
