Sushi Umi

Absolute favourite sushi joint in the city. Menu is simpler and straightforward, and focuses on the freshness of the fish and of the rice!!! Rice always tastes like it’s cooked and kept warm until ready to serve. Can’t go wrong with any of the menu items. Lunch service is efficient and satisfying. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic the opening hours are more restricted, so I never miss the opportunity to eat there when I finish work early enough.

Passing by the area and randomly stopped in to grab some take out. It was our first time here and my husband and I were in for quite a surprise, the food was delicious and the chef was so kind and generous! We will definitely be coming back, this is our new favourite!

Sushi is good but small portions for the price. Order time is also all over the place. A take out order for 3 takes 20 mins one day and an hour 20 the next for the same quantity of sushi.Food: 4/5

Really great food and an awesome chef/owner. Definitely recommend. They have unique roll combinations made with fresh ingredients.

One of my favourite sushi places in Ottawa! I love all the different dipping sauces. Great tasting sushi.

This is the only sushi restaurant that my family approved for sushi. We tried so many sushi resturants in Ottawa but this is the best place we ever tried.

The place is very small, be prepared to sit close to other clients. The sushi are very tasty and fresh but the portions are too small for the price. Ordered the family special for 3 people and left hungry.

It was snowing so I came in for hot tea, tempura and seafood miso soup. Excellent soup, the tea was kept hot and full, and the tempura was tasty! Small restaurant but has a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, bento boxes, udon soup etc.

Good service. Great food. We had tempura udon, gyoza, sake and maguro sashimi. Everything was great.
