Wednesday night all you can eat was great. The 1st order came out at a reasonable time but, due to how busy the restaurant got and the shortage of staff. The second order did take quite a bit longer. Still, the sushi and tempura was very tasty and would recommend eating here. Cheers.
The staff were nice, restaurant alright. It wasn't very busy. I ordered the Philadelphia roll and Yam roll. The yam roll was small but it did taste satisfactory. The tempura added a nice crunch. I was a little skeptical about the Philadelpia roll. Also, on the small side, but it was the Salmon that threw me off because Philadelphia rolls usually have smoked salmon not raw salmon. The experience was okay.
Walking in the doors you wouldn't think it was a sushi restaurant. Looks more like a roughed in BBQ or western restaurant. Zero atmosphere. The music was all over the place, but definitely not appropriate for a sushi place 80's and 90's love songs. The staff were all sitting at a booth. No uniform or anything identifying them as staff. Was seated and was given an a la carte menu with no mention of an all you can eat option. Luckily I had read about the new all you can eat so I asked. Menu was decent. First round came out and was beautiful. Great visual. Taste was on point. Great bite. Went down hill from there. Wait times got much longer and food quality dropped as it got busier. Chicken bites had bone and cartilage in almost every piece. As appealing as egg shell in an egg salad sandwich. Final vegetable roll came out and was a surprise to say the least. First vegetable roll I have ever had that didnt have a vegetable in it avocado and cucumber. Was also a cold roll. Not a good bite. Should have warm tempura veg rolls. Server came to table once to inquire on food. Did not ask about drink refills until we were done. Asked for bill and had to wait 10 minutes. Kept forgetting until he passed our table. Not a great visit. Has potential but weak effort by staff and management/ owners. First time in, most likely last time unless major changes are made.
The food here are amazing comparable to other sushi restaurants in major city. The only bad thing is the service just only one waitress on for the whole restaurant on a Saturday night. My absolute favourite sushi place in the world. The staff is always so friendly & the owner is always so nice & comes to chat with us. I moved from Lloyd but anytime I’m passing through I will definitely be stopping here as I did today. They have the best quality sushi for the best price. & they have a wide variety of items! I recommend Sushi Sora with all of my heart! Thank you guys for the great food, great service & great memories! Until next time
One of the best bites of food in Lloydminster. Black garlic ramen is incredible insert chef kiss. Restaurant is clean and has a nice vibe to it. Highly recommended.
Food was GREAT, service on the other hand.... Sub par. Watched a different table have to clean there own table all while the 'busboy' and 'server/waiter's watched. Then my family sat and waited for over 45 minutes for a dish that hadn't even been ordered for us. So I highly recommend take out or delivery!
sick atmosphere and environment. Nice and honest people but on two separate instances they were understaffed. First instance we were told it may take upwards to an hour to receive so we opted to leave. One month later, on the second instance of visiting hoping for all you can eat, due to being understaffed, we were told there is no all you can eat. The rolls looked amazing and tasted great! One of our party ordered the $50 chef's choice sushi platter that came with 20 pieces and was extremely underwhelmed by how small the pieces were. He felt 20 pieces for $50 may not of been a fair trade and the sushi was mid. We appreciate the honesty of the staff of noting ahead of time that they were understaffed but perhaps we were wrong for going in with high hopes. I would definitely be willing to go back but would STICK TO THE ROLLS and avoid ordering the $50 platter... More expensive does not necessarily mean best choice or most calories... lol
The sushi rolls are fresh and flavourful. The other menu items are mostly okay. Unfortunately they seem to often be out of one ingredient or another possibly due to covid; but you can still find delicious alternatives.
Quite impressed with the ramen noodle bowls when you can get them. Last week they ran out of noodles, and this week they ran out of pork. If they are trying to maintain fresh stocked ingredients then I can accept that. I'm not sure if they are short staffed, but I basically stared at the wall for 15 minutes after being seated. This is the second time this happened to me. There were 2 other people in the restaurant so it's not like it was packed. Good food but hard to get served in a timely manner. The gentleman at the till spends most of his time on his phone rather than tending to customers.
