First time here and very impressed. I had one of the combo meals served with Miso soup and a salad. Every bite was excellent. Best sushi I've had in Ottawa. I paired it with some warm saki, which I decided to experience for the first time. A very unique and pleasant drink that disappears from the palate as soon as you swallow it, leaving a clean crisp feeling. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place and I will definitely be back.
We came here as a family of 5 to have dinner, it’s a small cozy spot with 3 tables tables fit2-2-4 when we first told them we were a family of 5 they didn’t want to let us sit on a table of 4 and add a chair. They said table is too small, then I insisted and told them we were a family with 3 kids so the table size is decent. We ordered few appetizers and sushi . The place was empty but lots of take away orders after waiting for 30 minutes I asked if we could at least get our Edmame! Unfortunately the lady wasn’t very nice and she said “we are busy” I completely understand that but since we were the only sit down people they had they could’ve at least gave us one thing to much on while waiting! Service was our only draw back but sushi was 10/10 all fresh and very tasty. We had the red dragon and house rolls amazing . Nigiri was great for the Saki salmon! Definitely worth a visit! It’s on our favourite list now but maybe to go next time!
The parking is easy, you can park just by the door. The place is cozy and the waitress is so positive and helpful especially that it was out first time there as it's a new restaurant in town. The food ? Super awesome! Just go and try it, I strongly recommend this place. We ordered 6 different types of rolls and all of them were full of taste. Definitely I'm visiting them again. The dine-in space is small, so if you're a big group make sure to call in advance to reserve a table.
Came here for lunch and was so happy with what we got. The servers were super friendly, and the food was amazing. We got vegetable tempura to start which was varied and nice and crispy. We also got four different rolls and each were immaculately and freshly made. Our favourite was the spicy salmon roll that were perfectly spicy and had a little crunch inside. Recommend this place as you will not be disappointed.
I think I have a new favourite sushi place in Ottawa! I live in Centretown but was in Wellington West for an RMT session at Uppliva. While walking back, I saw Sushi-ro and decided to grab some takeout dinner. Prices are very reasonable and quality is great. Got an order of miso soup very generous serving, at least 3 cups, the deep-fried kamikaze roll, and the spicy salmon roll. Some places in Ottawa have more rice than they do fish/other fillings in the roll; Sushi-ro definitely does not. I’m originally from the West Coast and miss the variety of sushi options out there and value for money. Very happy to have stumbled upon Sushi-ro. Will definitely be back
Soooooo good and I love the way they display the food as well. Comes on a little ship. The combo packages they have are a great deal and plenty for a couple especially. Would recommend and staff were friendly.
Me and my partner had lunch here on January 3, 2022. We had a lovely time here. It's not an easy task to find good sushi in Ottawa and this place hits the spot. Ramen was amazing too. I will definitely come back!
Sushi for me was an acquired taste. Having lived in Japan has changed my palate a whole lot when it comes to good quality food. And when I moved here, the search for good Japanese food was on. And Sushi-ro is definitely the closest there is for me & my husband’s washoku fix. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been craving sushi and not even tempted to buy just anywhere else coz I know that won’t do it. I bought the bento for my husband &agedashi dofu & sushi for me. Getting the tofu for take out wasn’t a good idea, we would’ve enjoyed it more if we were dining in. But the rest was great.
This place was yum! I got the sashimi lunch special so it was a good deal. Partner got a bento. Very nicely presented.
Decided to stop in because of the reviews. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was comfortable. Serving size was just right. It is a small space and I was happy there was a free table. Service was good and I will be back.
