Great and fast service. Mind me it was a Monday night and there was less than 10 people when I came in. I had the Pork Belly Ramen and it was delicious!! Sweet and salty with chilli on the side as requested. The server surprised me with a free appetizer fried sushi it was good but a bit on the cold side. Did I say free?? : Also, the washroom was the best I have seen in a sushi restaurant. I might come back and try the fish.
Pretry good place for some well done Japanese food. The atmosphere is pretty fancy, and the staff are quite hospitable. We had their yuja cha and that was delightful. Their ramen was divine and their sushi was fresh and smooth. Would definitely come here again.
I had the teriyaki chicken meal with an honey avocado salad. The salad was not wring properly so the mixing it the bowl made the honey avocado taste watered down. The chicken was white meat and overcooked. It was just warm so I got a feeling it's not freshly made and was just kept warm. The teriyaki sauce was good though. The place was pretty empty, but it was a Monday night. I was seated close to the sushi bar and heard all the staff's conversations as they were speaking pretty loudly. My soup and salad came first and 3 minutes later my entrée came. I didn't have time to finish my appetizers. Plus my table had traces of dried sauce, nobody ever came back to ask how was my food nor did they come back to fill my water or tea. I had to raise my hand to get someone to come over and I had get up afterwards to pay at the cash since I don't want to have to raise my hand again to get the check. Very disappointed on everything. Not going back until they train their staff better. This is the worst restaurant I've been to in a long time.
I'll give a 4 stars for service, but the food is about 3 stars as I loved their fusion of Japanese to sit Western tastes, but the really should arrive for keeping it Japanese as so many people, I included, have been there and people who has had real Japanese food live it more than the stuff you find at home. So if you've never been to Japan, this place is the best, but if you're like me I think the best options are the basic and their Ramen. Alcohol is a bit expensive so keep that in mind too.
Decent Service. Reasonable prices. Delicious food. I ate lunch here in a group of three during the quiet time between lunch and dinner. The place wasn't busy and we were seated immediately upon arrival. As soon as I sat down and went to adjust my chair I found I was stuck to the floor. There was a substance, presumably a drink from a former patron spilled everywhere on the foamy floor around our table and it got all over my shoes. Really, they could have seated us anywhere with the amount of space in there, so this was a disappointment. My party had to wait a good ten minutes to order even drinks, and as we were in a hurry we ordered food at the same time. We were not informed about the drink specials. The menu had a large selection of different appetizers, rolls, dinner combinations and bento boxes. Their sushi pizza idea looked interesting. I ordered spicy salmon maki, edamame, and a happy hour drink. It was all a very reasonable price. The dishes met my expectations exactly. I would be interested to see how the restaurant dealt with higher traffic and some of the more complex dishes.
Definitely a new favorite sushi spot in St. John's. Quick and friendly service on a Wednesday evening. Rolls are generously sized, reasonably priced and have great quality fish. After some experimenting at various sushi restaurants in the city I've found it to be better worth your $$ to buy several nice rolls and appetizers rather than paying for unlimited sushi at a lower quality location unlimited sushi often turns out to be more money than just buying what you wanted. Definitely reccommend Sushi Nami!
Decent prices and good service. Well made rolls. Ordered octopus salad and I'm sure it was good for those who like it but it wasn't for me! Made a good Long Island ice tea too. Good for groups, dates or solo dining. On George street.
Excellent food and service. The mango and sesame ice cream was fantastic! I was also very happy with my teriyaki chicken! Would absolutely return if I make it back to St. John's.
Sushi is always my fav. But their sushi, i like it more.. and the prices also very reasonable
This was my first time here. It was also my first time at a sushi restaurant. I had the Tropicana roll which was really good but I preferred the volcano roll that my lunch companion had. Dessert was really good. The service was really good and the prices were pretty good. I will be back :
