Surf’s Up

I tried the catfish dinner and a side of turkey greens. The cat fish is filleted, no bone in steak style which I prefer. The cat fish was perfectly cooked, well seasoned. For $13.99 take out I got three large pieces, fries, slaw and a bread roll. Although the fish was very good the fries were a little burnt and soggy. The turkey greens were a little bland, I prefer more of a strong smoky flavor but they were still pretty good and not bad considering greens are hard to find in the burbs. I should have looked at the menu closer as sauce is extra and I forgot to order some. They have a few tables, it is clean and seem to do a brisk take out business. Next time I want to try the shrimp and cheese grits which looked really good.

First time at this restaurant and the crab legs were jumping like Jordan they did not disappoint. The shrimp are a great size for a great price. My fiancé had the fried lobster tail and loved it. They give you a great amount of food for a good price. This restaurant knows what seasoning is and isn’t shy about adding a little dazzle dazzle to their food. Great experience can’t wait to try other things on the menu.

Does not disappoint!!! Surfs up has the most delicious red potatoes and corn combo and I love the catfish. I’ve been here quite a few times and it’s always a friendly and welcoming environment. My family loves the shrimp, wings, hush puppies, and fried catfish. Great food!

Let me start off by saying seafood here has a great seasoning and good flavor. I got what is called the "Tidal Wave" bit on the pricey side for me but I get it. $106 got be 2lbs of king crab legs, two 6ounce lobster tails, 1/2lb of grilled shrimp and prefectly seasoned corn and potatoes. I am not sure if the butter sauce they give you is real butter, didn't taste like it but it was ok. The atmosphere was good and the owner came out and talked to us very good guy. Good family owned business. I wanted to give them a try since they are local for me and I would come back but woukd try other options like grilled catfish, alligator or whatever. They have a pretty good selection of seafood. One thing I would say in closing is would of liked to see fountain drink options. They had bottled water and can or bottles of soda but like the option for a fountain drinks. Keep up the good work! Vegetarian options: If your a die hard vegan probably not the place for you. Seafood is vegetarian friendly. Kid-friendliness: Brought a 10 month old no issues Parking: Lots of parking Dietary restrictions: It's seafood, pretty clean

Always proud to support black-owned ventures! I have had the Shrimp Po-Boy from this location twice, and both times have been great! There was an ample portion of Shrimp layered into the perfectly toasted french roll. Both times I got Garlic Fries, and I was a bit underwhelmed. They only tasted like oil with no garlic. That can be fixed! I'll be frequenting!

I ordered the fish and shrimp combo . When I got home it was fish and wings. It was all very tasty but oily. In general I don't care for seasoned fries, but theirs were very good. I will definitely go back and get the shrimp

I ordered the crab leg dinner for takeout, and it was phenomenal. Best I’ve had in this state by a long shot. I was also able to try the Hennessy sauce which is fantastic, I will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu in addition to the crab legs again!

I have been a fan of their food. So when my corporate director asked about using a black owned restaurant to cater lunch for our Lisle location, surf’s up was my first and only choice! I called the day before, spoke to management and they made it happen! My staff absolutely loved everything! When we order @ home we always have a great experience also. They NEVER disappoint.

Now I know why the door's window was boarded up & missing on Fri., Dec. 2, 2022 when I came here for the first & last time. I ordered 2 shrimp po boy sandwiches. One order was grilled w/ an order of fries & the other order was fried w/ garlic fries. I ordered 2 sauces but was charged for 3. When I drove home to Bolingbrook I noticed I didn't have 3 sauces like I paid for & 4 sets of fries which none were garlic tasting. Now, on this NEW menu that I was given when I walked in the door & started looking at the menu in the store posted above the register you would think it would state that fries come w/ the sandwich but it didn't! Once home, I immediately called the store; the cashier said the manager was out after I told her what happened & that I wanted my money returned for the sauce I didn't receive & the no garlic fries; she told me to call back the next day at 11a. I called Sat., & spoke w/ a new lady person & she said call him back later on today @5p. Later on that day @5:45p. I called back to speak w/ him the manager come to find out it's more than one but the young lady said, "we're busy can you call him back at," I immediately said to her, this is my 3rd time calling. She gave him the phone w/ out denouncing herself ... Just rude! The the manager gets on the phone & says, "the garlic fries were in your bag because I put them in the bag myself now is this about the sauce?" Immediately, I knew it was about him returning my money $4.50 & owning up to his mistakes than anything else. I said Sir, I see where this is going & I'm not going to argue w/ you about $4. fries. He said, "thank you & you have yourself a good night" & I said, "you too!" ***Note to self: As an owner, if a customer calls me 3 times about a refund of $4.50 & a comment/ complaint ... Any business I should not be the owner of if I can not handle it better than this. I didn't want to say this is a black owned business but I know you knew! I guess this is why the prices are very pricey & "we" do mind paying the price because of the lack of professionalism that we receive!

super greasy! When I told the manager she replied I’m sorry we training people. So the fact you’re training people I have to eat greasy food. She lied and said I came and got my food late, so she wouldn’t exchange my order. That was a lie I ordered my food 5 mins away and when I got there he told me it would be up in a few mins. Do not go here the worst customer service ever!!!!!!!!! They liars to make it seem like you’re lying.
