We did not stay here, but we ate here probably 7 or 8 times during our month-long stay on Gabriola island. The food is good, and there are a variety of options to choose from. They do have gluten free options for buns, etc. The servers were always very pleasant, and the dining room looks out over the water. This is a nice, comfortable place for a quiet meal. Food & drinks: I tried probably half of the menu while we were on the island, and didn't find anything I didn't like. Noteworthy details: They have binoculars to use if you see whales or other wildlife on the water.
Erin was an excellent server. The tossed salad and clam chowder were excellent. Very tasty fish and chips. Great atmosphere. Very clean and lovely. We really enjoyed our lunch- thank you!!!!
Beautiful location with stunning views. The food was amazing and catered to my celiac needs. I didn't see the cabins that were for rent however one can assume they are in line with the rest of the establishment. The server we had was friendly and professional. Always checking in with us to see if we needed anything or wanted anything else. Was an amazing dining experience and I do not say that lightly. This restaurant was a little out of the way but definitely worth the trip. All of the ratings were correct on it being fabulous. Looked like there was a large hall area as well for live music and dancing.
Lodge is in a beautiful spot with open ocean view in front of it and wood trails behind. We didn't spend much time in our room as we drove around discovering parks and beaches. I like people in lodge the most. They were are very welcoming and friendly. My family felt as if we had visited distant relatives rather than lodge stuff. We would consider going back for another stay.
The restaurant had a great atmosphere and beautiful views of the water. The food was quite good. I would stop by again next time I go back to Gabriola Island.Service: 4/5
The island has a shortage of labor due to the small population, but it's such a lovely place, and our food came rather quickly. I think the negative reviews exaggerate.Rooms: 5/5
Was kind of nervous ordering here due to bad reviews, so just ordered two drinks and fries. Fries were fresh so that was nice, but wasn't special. We'll get a real dish next time to actually give the food a chance. But the reason for 5 stars were for the service alone. The server was amazing and very polite. We felt bad for not ordering much but he was willing to learn to make the drinks we wanted. He also taught us that there was a song about our home town. On a different note, the view does help the place, the view is wonderful.

Enjoyed our short stay. Felt sorry for the poor waitress that had to look after the whole place. San hope that’s correct couldn’t do enough to make us comfortable. Only really downer is the lack of an entrance, as to where it is or isn’t. Took a chance and entered the only open do we saw. Would stay again.Rooms: 4/5
Went for lunch last week for fish and chips. Waited forever to get lunch and then the worst fries ever. The fries were leftover from at least the previous day and not even warmed throughout. When I complained to server she said she couldn’t do anything about it. When I didn’t leave a tip she accosted us. I suppose when you are the only restaurant on an island you can serve terrible food and get away with it. Save your money and go elsewhere. Worst lunch ever.
