Story

Super Mario's Bar and Lounge is in the heart of Willow Point with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We are home to the best sushi in Campbell River and also have many options for the non-sushi lovers and a great list of appies! Our martini and cocktail lists can't be beat and we have live music every weekend!! Thursday and Friday nights are Jam Nights, and Saturday nights are Live Music Entertainment.

Went for an early dinner with a friend last night to Super Mario’s. As a resident in the Willow Point area this establishment is a favourite haunt although it has been quite some time since going there. I was disappointed with my food. I ordered the Korean Beef bowl which is my favourite there and was really looking forward to it. Normally included in the bowl is fresh chopped cucumber, carrots and iceburg lettuce. Last nights version had more ginger than beef, a few sliced cucumber and some wilted dark green lettuce that was not crunchy like iceburg. The most disappointing was the huge amount of ginger which completely overpowered the entire dish. I mentioned it to the server who said she would tell the chef. If she did he did not care as he did not speak to me about it. In the past Mario would come out to the table and ask how everything was. My second disappointment was to be charged $4.00 for a cranberry juice with soda and then to be charged another $4.00 for a refill which I would have declined the offer of if I had been informed that I’d would be paying for it. I was offered a third refill which I did decline. Good thing or I would have had a $12 bill for choosing not to drink alcohol. When I complained to the server he went to ask about it and came back to tell me that refills on juice were not free there. He did apologize because he had not told me that and I did leave him a tip because none of this was his fault and he did provide excellent service. Again, the boss did not come to speak to me. I would have sent this directly to the chef/owner via there website however there does not seem to be a way to do that on their website. My review of last night’s dinner out will not deter me from going again, however I was very disappointed with my local and the fact that the friendly chef/ owner who has always cared about what his customers think and feel about their experience seems to be gone.
The seafood medley was lacking the advertised scallops, it consisted of garlic,red peppers, plain squid and a cup of grease or butter. First and last time here $4.00 for one glass of pop and no refills!!!!! I have never been charged $8 for 2 glasses of pop in my life anywhere including ritzy restaurants far above this place. A blatant rip-off!!!!!....Super rip off not very super Mario! How to not get return customers...too bad as we live in the neighbourhood.
This is one of the worst places in town for being able to handle a weekend crowd. They are very unorganized and understaffed. I have had more than one e bad experience here and will most likely never go back. I couldn't even tell you if the food was good because both times I went, our parties waited an hour and a half once and over two hours on Jan 25. Some people in our party were getting their main course when half of us hadn't even gotten an appetizer
ordered take out sushi, prefer the other places in CR for sushi too much rice and not enough of other things, looks like an great place to hangout though, ambiance looks great. I'll adjust my rating once I go in for pub grub.
Hosted a surprise birthday celebration here; Phenomenal time! The food was delicious, and the live music was spot on. Danced the night away! Everyone had a great time!
Amazing service! The owner and staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Always great food and a fantastic environment. Very often have live music.
Arrived at 4 pm Tues and the sign at the door says that they should be open for Happy Hour 3-7 pm M-F, but it was closed. Also the Super Mario theming on the ceiling shown in the first photo is not here at all. And it's a big part of why I went to look for it travelling through the area. It's actually all beige and khaki?
Love the live bands. One of the few places to go for music in town . Offers good food. Plenty of parking located great for people living in the south of town.
Great food. Great service. Music is a bit loud but good music and entertaining singer! Drinks are plentiful and fun!! Dancing happens!
Mario is a gracious host and always provides a fun atmosphere and good food options! If you are looking for a great place for a private party or just a night out go to super Mario's!
