I was here teaching for a day and supporting faculty students and others. The students faculty, administrators and facilities are magnificent. They are innovative and forward thinking. The buildings are beautiful.
The University baseball facility was excellent. The only issue is the signage is so poor one is left to basically wander around looking for the exact place you need to get to, and then legal parking. Even a security person couldn't explain where to go, he said it's somewhere near the tennis courts. Had no idea how to get there.
If you want a real job don't go here. You are only a number amongst the rest of the students. Career services didn't provide any help for a job after graduation. Still don't have a real job two years after graduating. My community college I graduated from was better than this school. SUNY Cortland is nothing but a party school. The food is also pretty bad. There are laxatives in the food in case they undercook anything. Don't expect to get quality food anywhere unless you drive to Ithaca. My best time here was the first year here and it just progressively got worse. Even the professors will tell you good luck getting a job after graduation. Very discouraging, loss of interest, and motivation. I only had one good professor for a history elective I had to take that wasn't even major based. The parking is also pretty bad and a half mile from the dorms. There are only two parking lots. My community college had five times more parking than this school.
Simply one of the best SUNY facilities !! Beautiful campus, many lovely memories, wouldn't have missed my time here for the world !!
SUNY Cortland is awesome!! They volunteered as a major site for covid vaccination this year in their ice arena. I am very proud to be a Cortland alum and retired Cortland faculty for over 40 years. I have been able to volunteer at these covid clinics to help our community. That is part of the Cortland tradition - to give back. Gladly. Thank you Cortland for your commitment during this pandemic.
