We decided to take our New Year's Day breakfast at Sunnyside and it was a good start. Busy day for familys and friends meet up so the place was almost full but the waiting time is short. We order the popular Rise n' Shine and The Big Breakfast meal, it was a typical breakfast with eggs, toasts/pancakes, ham, sausage and bacon. Price was fair, service was great but I can say normal taste. In general, Sunnyside is recommendable.
We ordered the good morning skillet and the western sandwich with home fries. The food was pretty good although a bit bland without hollandaise on the skillet and mayo on the sandwich. We ordered the sauces separately after tasting the food without them. Our overall experience was good except for a rude customer who was watching videos on his phone and had the volume cranked up very loud so everyone in the restaurant could hear. That was extremely annoying and ruined the chill vibe and nice music the restaurant was playing. Our server was very friendly and checked back frequently to see if we needed anything else which we greatly appreciated.
I’ve been exploring places where I can have good Canadian breakfast & coffee. This place is my favourite among the ones I tried so far. I like English breakfast skillet. The ingredients blended well and properly cooked which I liked. Other places sometimes have the cheese overcooked or undercooked on top which gets chewy, but here it’s done well. Coffee however not so great. Overall a nice to have 8am breakfast before office kind of place.
This is by far one of they best restaurants I've been too. The service was super fast and SOO friendly. The whole place was super clean. The food was REAL and FRESH. Definitely quality. Vegetarian options: Not everything has meat or dairy Kid-friendliness: Super friendly to my kid Parking: The parking is good it's just the drivers who don't know how to park Wheelchair accessibility: All one flat level
Not a good place for dinner. I ordered the mom’s meatloaf and paid $17 for frozen food and I’m still hungry. I imagine the place is a good option for breakfast only… My goal was to have some nice local experience as I just moved from Toronto but it was a fail. Place is outdated and the food took a lot of minutes to be ready and I have no idea why because it was totally frozen food.
Food is average. Service is great. Was a little hot inside. Needs some ventilation. Food size doesn't match the prices.
Loving the homestyle breakfast ! The food was really delicious and the service was really good. Honestly some of the best breakfast skillets in town !
Had Birthday brunch at Sunnyside on Sunday. It is definitely a popular spot and the staff did all they could to seat us as quickly as possible. Probably waited 15 minutes which wasn't bad at all given we were walk-ins. Our server was amazing! She checked back with us several times and out coffee cups were never empty. Food was great. We did have a couple of folks with is who are not egg fans and it was not a problem to customize their meals. May not seem like a big thing but many restaurants will not allow substitutions, so this was much appreciated. My only concern was the filthy ceiling vents and general ceiling area I noticed as we waited to be seated. Would be great to see the owners of this establishment take as much pride in it as their staff do. Will definitely be back!
I went here with a small group of people and it was quite busy at the time. The waitress was very friendly and I feel like for the amount of people in there the food came relatively quickly. It wasn’t amazing food, but it was decent and for the price you can’t complain. I would go here again for sure
I go to this restaurant sometimes on Sundays with my siblings for breakfast and it’s pretty consistent. Unfortunately, today was the worst experience we had here. The waitress was super friendly, no problem with her at all. But the food… we all had left some on our plates because it was almost inedible. Hash browns were so over cooked that we couldn’t eat half of them. Sausages were so rubbery and old it tasted like it was left out for hours or it was going bad. And some of the back bacon was under cooked and tasted funky. I think next time we will have to go somewhere else for breakfast before returning here. Disappointing that this has happened. Gave 3 stars because they’re usually pretty good. But, if I was rating on today’s experience, I would of given 1-2 stars.
