Dinner with some friends who are vegetarian and they introduced to Sun Bo Kong Vegetarian Restaurant on Kingsway. The menus is so extensive and everything so was delicious and I need to come back to try other dishes.nnWe ordered:n- Spinach Thick Soup: beautiful presentation with green and white ying yang symbol on the surface. The soup was so savoury I had another helping.n- Deep Fried Taro Roll: I love taro and this was nice twist as it's deep friedn- Tofu and Broccoli: Was a customized request for me, and it's not on the menun- Baked Fried Rice with Pumpkin and Cheese: I don't tend to eat pumpkin as savory dish and this was my hubby's favourite dishn- Chili & Pepper Deep Fried Fresh Oyster Mushroom - I do not like mushroom but I take a bite just to try and well, I ate the rest of it! I guess when you deep fry anything, it just taste wonderful :n- Dessert: Tapioca Pudding - always one my favourite Chinese dessertnnThe service was wonderful as the staff we took our order helped us decide what to order with what we like and what the staff recommending. For a weekday evening, the restaurant was quite busy.nnWe had a wonderful dinner catching up with dear friends, dinng together with delicious vegetarian food.
This Chinese vegetarian restaurant is located near Knight Street at Kingsway.nThere are few vegetarian restaurants in Vancouver, but there are many vegetarian guests, so lunch time is almost full. You know there are lots of people with huge mirrors on the wall, and I believe one of the reasons for the loud noise.nThe quality of food is average, the taste of vegetarian braised disk is average, the taste of different types of food in disk is similar, I like to take it Hong Kong or Taiwan instead. Ginkgo dipped vegetable is not good as ginkgo with sour taste. I think deep fried taro dumping is a good choice.
Tried this 100% vegetarian Chinese resto tonight for the first time and I can say immediately we will for sure be back, and often! What an awesome place— you must try the veggie super spicy won tons— wow!! Who cares about meat, these won tons definitely prove you don’t need meat— they were perfect, delicious, and totally soy based apparently. That for sure is a dish to order again and again on return visits— trust me you’ll see what I mean! Also had bean curd with mushrooms and snow peas, and tofu with broccoli and enoki mushrooms — everything was perfect! I very highly recommend this place and will for sure be back to try lots more of the menu. I asked for “very low salt” and they complied, with everything tasting just right. Very friendly staff and they clearly value customer’s business! I love the local family vibe and will be back, soon! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Exceptional dim sum experience at this vegetarian restaurant on Kingsway in Vancouver, and I can confidently say it's the best vegetarian Chinese restaurant in the Metro Vancouver area, possibly even in all of North America.nnThe variety and quality of the dishes were truly outstanding. And such quality sustains over the last two three decades.nnWe sampled an impressive range of items, including Shanghainese dumplings, panfried stuffed eggplant, and steamed BBQ buns. The deep-fried taro dumplings and turnip cakes were perfectly crispy and bursting with flavor. I was particularly impressed by their creative vegetarian takes on classic dishes like the chili pepper tofu and hot spicy wonton.nnTea service was prompt, and the portions were generous for the price. The restaurant offers an extensive selection of both traditional and innovative vegetarian dim sum options that could satisfy even the most discerning palate. The atmosphere was bustling yet comfortable, typical of a beloved local dim sum spot.nnBook ahead if you plan to dine during holidays and weekends. Parking behind the restaurant.
Great dining experience! The menu is hugeee. I wish I had a big belly for all the dishes here. Unfortunately we came for dinner, so we didn’t get to try dim sum dishes. Will come back in the morning for dim sum.nnThere’s parking in the back alley and you can walk upstairs from the back.
