I recently visited the revived Sugar Thai Restaurant for the first time, and I must say, it was an excellent experience. The restaurant has reopened under new owners, and I was thrilled to see it up and running again. The updated décor was pleasing to the eye, and the service was outstanding. Moreover, the food was both plentiful and flavorful. One aspect that really impressed me was the restaurant's commitment to the environment. They provided me with a reusable container for my leftovers, which I thought was a classy and environmentally sensitive touch. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Sugar Thai and plan to return. It's sure to become one of my go-to places when I'm looking for great food, top-notch service, and good value for my money.
This is the greatest restaurant I have ever eaten from/at! The food is prepared with expert care and the quality is second to none. I first ate at this establishment in 2006-2007 and I was experiencing great homesickness, I had never eaten Thai cuisine before yet when I tasted this food- I was transported to a deep sense of home! I like to say this restaurant is the reason I was able to graduate University! For- I dare not leave Ellensburg when such food was so near! Each time I eat Thai food at any other location or attempt to cook it, it is not quite the same as the excellence offered by this establishment and I will never not say- this is the greatest restaurant in the whole world! This restaurant is magical. Pure. Magic! Excellent food and great ownership. Thanks for being in Ellensburg! I do not travel west much- but when I do- I always try to stop here to eat! Sugar Thai- you are always in my heart and I love ya!
I’ll start on a positive note and say that the restaurant looks nicely updated inside and the wait staff is very friendly. I’ve enjoyed dining at this restaurant for years because the food was great! However… my recent experience after the reopening was quite disappointing. The spring rolls were swimming in grease. There was a pool of grease on the plate. They were basically inedible. Our entrees weren’t up to par either. I ordered a 2 star, my fiancé ordered a 3 star. Neither of us had any spice added to our food. We both ordered the garlic delight. What used to come on a sizzling hot skillet now comes on a plate, with chicken that looks and tastes like it has been boiled and then briefly reheated before adding it to your meal. This all came with a pretty pricy tab… I have been talking about how amazing the food was at this restaurant for years, and finally taking my fiancé to try it, only for the food to be this bad was a let down.
Really good food, nice atmosphere, a little on the expensive side but great taste. We ordered - Thai Fried Rice, Chicken Phad Thai, Pad See Ew and Fresh Rolls. All great .
Update March 25, 2021 Came back in to give a second chance So much better. Enjoyed the appetizer, the main meal & the desserts. May 4, 2017 It was okay. I have had sooooooo much better @ other places, plus the place was infested with flies. Had to keep shooing the flies off my food. The BEST place for Thai Cuisine is called Benjarong Thai Restaurant in Monroe, WA IT'S THE BEST
I got my order for take out which someone brought to me. The chicken in both my dishes was overcooked. The dishes were tasty and filling.Food: 4/5
Gonna be honest been coming to sugar Thai for year the crispy rolls have always been one of my favorite items but since the revamped menu price went up quality went down more than likely won’t be back half of the rolls this time are burnt and too hard to even eat. Once would be one thing but this isn’t the first time.
Got into town after a long drive with a car full of hungry people. Found Sugar Thai easily on the map and with the map. Getting seated took longer that it should have but they only had two servers. Time to get order was perfect. Food temperature, spice, and taste was as ordered and awesome. I really feel sorry however that the girls had to wear the Thai costumes. It only helped to give the place a small town feel. Overall we were very pleased.
Live on the "west side" Have several favorite Thai places.......this place "ROCKS" great atmosphere, service and most important food!!!! Highly recommend!!!!
