Played: 13-Jul-2020 It was tough getting a public tee-time here, probably due to the limited tee-times during the Covid-19 pandemic, they maybe reserving most of their tee-times for their members. The course itself is in good condition. The tee boxes and fairways were in good condition, the greens crew was out cutting the fast growing rough. Most of the greens are in good condition, and the pace was quick. A few of them had recently been aerated and looked spotted but rolled okay.
A good course overall and greens are nicely maintained. Quite pricey though for so called Twilight time and was not used to that type of price tag starting at 430 pm. My employee did not have on proper attire and I get that but his shirt did not have writing on it nor a muscle shirt so that cost me another 100 dollars off clearance rack just so he could play too and as 20 mins from our hotel in NW Edmonton location wise. Golf was still fun but yes PRICEY.
Best conditions I can recall playing at Sturgeon ever. Course in absolutely great shape. Fairways like carpets and greens running fast and true. And new restaurant patio was really nice. Really impressed with the entire experience. I’ll be back !
Dwayne Mandrusiak is there and that alone is worth the price of admission . Course is in amazing shape as well

Invited to play by member Doug G. After playing our round, I would have to say, aside from several t-box/holes under repair, the course is in terrific shape. Give it another month and it will be perfect. The course layout will speak to the weekend duffer or the more serious golfer. It can be forgiving or challenging depending where you tee-up. They are fixing up their patio, on completion it will be quite lovely. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Whilst I didn't eat this time, the plates of food I saw when grabbing a beer looked great. When I golf there next Doug will I get an invite back, lol, I will take the time to grab a bite. I will also add, having participated in numerous charity golf tournaments, they sure have a nice facility layout to accommodate events.
We have been members of SVGCC for over 20 years. This year has the best conditions ever . The membership voted two years ago to borrow 2.5+ million for upgrades to the course and clubhouse to raise it above the rest! As of July 1st , 2018 the course is open on all 18 holes. The greens & fairways are in excellent shape! The bunkers are still under development but will prove to be a factor on approach shots! Even a bit of wildlife on the course! After the round, check out The Valley Lounge! Great food! Great atmosphere! Where friends meet!

Jessica was a good sport and hit our 2nd shot to the hole on the 4th. Nice Saturday afternoon tourney with ABC. The staff was fun to interact with. Thanls for the experience and good attempt on hole 4 Jessica! Approach on hole 9 was a fun one!
Private Country Club. Nice facility if you have big bucks. The course is very nice, not too difficult and always in great condition. The clubhouse and service are excellent but then it should be for the price. Harald approves.
