A great place to see the sturgeon spawning in April each year. There is a concrete walkway along the water and a small observation platform over the water. There is a pavillon and picnic tables but no restrooms portable toilets are available during the spawning. There are about 30 parking spots and access to the Mountain Bay Trail and foot bridge. There is a sturgeon sculpture and several information nature signs. I especially enjoy watching the water come through the dam though the view across the river is spoiled a bit by the industrial paper plant.
A super awsome place to experience the sturgeon spawn. And if you make it at the right time you can witness weighing and tagging.
This is THE gathering place for observers and onlookers during the brief and very unpredictable sturgeon run every April. Aptly named and centrally located, this park is one of the "city centers" utilized for various community events like 5K walk runs and festivals.
Beautiful little park in a small town! Wasn't during spawning season, but we watched a little kid reel in a 3 foot Sturgeon!
Love watching the sturgeon in the spring. Lots of fish but you have to time it right. The DNR have a tagging operation here as well. Cool to see it.
Took our annual visit to see the sturgeon. Was busy as usual but people were friendly and respectful of each other.
Very exciting watching the sturgeon...a must stop if your I'm the area at the end of April beginning of May.
This place is absolutely beautiful. It is very clean and seems well managed. My kids loved being able to actually walk down by the water. It was a fun little adventure for us.
Ample parking, plenty of area to get a close up view if spawning surgeons.
Therapeutic place to relax and fishand soak up some sun
