We received an unnecessarily rude reception when we stopped in for coffee this holiday Monday. The woman serving was joyless and curt. It turns out that we were the lucky ones; the people behind us were told that she was not “accepting” any more customers... this 8 minutes prior to the cafe’s closing time?!?! We sat outside and watched as dozens of customers were turned away before the posted closing time without an explanation or apology. It was a bewildering way to treat patrons. Not what I’d call a sound business plan. The coffee & food were mediocre at best. I’d recommend avoiding this spot, unless you’re into being treated poorly.

Short hours but then everything in Galiano has them. The bread and pastries are fantastic. Best place for coffee is here.

A great place to find tasty pastries, have a coffee break and to meet and greet friends and visitors to Galiano. This bakery also supports local artists, exhibiting their work to visitors and islanders. Many thanks to our baker, Wendy! (Love the roosters!!)

Sturdies Bay Bakery is the former Trincomali Bakery, they have moved to the old Post office building, a 5 minute hike off the ferry. A full hot drink bar & lotsa sweets
