Before my review can have value, the reader should know a bit about me and my expectations. When I pay for professional service, I expect professional service. I expect understanding, collaboration, guidance, and expertise. Where it comes to hair, I expect to leave the salon feeling like I have the best hair out of anyone who had, has, or will have hair. I’m obsessive over imperfections and my confidence is so fragile that literally one ill-cut hair can break it. I have never, not once, loved a haircut. I’ve “liked them, but…” David left me speechless. He gave me a perfect haircut. He made me feel so connected to his craft that I can’t trust anyone else to cut my hair again. He masterfully handled each of my expectations and exceeded my wildest dreams of how beautiful my hair could look. I started with waist length hair and cut it to a bob with another stylist at a different salon. I liked it, but… I went for a trim and shape up with another stylist at a different salon. I liked it, but… I came to David without any pictures and described, in less detail than I had ever before, what I wanted. He didn’t just give me a cut, he gave me THE cut. I asked him to blow dry volume into my hair, a favour I ask of every stylist. To my delight, my hair had volume when I left! I will recommend David to every one of my friends and family. Service: Partial Balayage + Cut/Style My third visit to Studio Five and I will never be going anywhere else! Farrah made me feel very comfortable and welcome, giving me exactly what I envisioned. I asked for a very subtle, natural looking balayage on my naturally dark hair. The result turned out even better than I expected! Thank you!!

First and last time going to this salon. After reading great reviews I went in for a simple trim and layers around my face for framing. My stylist Farrah was lovely in person but Im afraid she butchered the haircut. I got short layers in the front and no layers around my face so I was left with blunt short layers and super long hair like a mullet. When I got home I noticed these short layers were uneven on each side, so I went back for it to be fixed right away and asked for more layers around the face for framing - I literally feel like she had no idea what she was doing because I walked out with zero layers again and I was terrified to ask her to do more as I didnt want her to cut off my hair completely. I will now need to grow out the short hair I have in the front and have it fixed by my regular stylist in Toronto. Also, note that no water/tea/coffee was offered during my visit I am not high-maintnance but this is kind of expected, they only shampooed my hair one time every good salon i've ever visited they shampoo twice and the products used on my hair left it feeling very dry.

I got a haircut from Monica and she was absolutely amazing! She listened to me and cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. I definitely recommend booking with her!!

Got my hair cut by Farrah to shoulder length with some layering, and I was incredibly happy with result! Farrah was an excellent conversationalist and very professional. She gave good recommendations for hair care without pressuring to by more products and the final cost was accurate to what was advertised. The studio itself was clean, well ventilated, and mask friendly! Overall, I was very satisfied with the service here and intend to return in the future.

I went to Studio Five for the first time yesterday and got the BEST haircut I’ve had in years. David was awesome and gave me exactly what I wanted in less than an hour might I add and I left feeling amazing about my hair. Highly recommend!Service: Hairstyling

Very disappointed! I was a client of this salon and visited once 90 minutes before closing to pick up some products. Doors are closed…no sign on the door saying why they’re closed 90 minutes before they were supposed to be and there were 2 employees at the back ‘hiding’ behind a wall when they saw me at the door. I DM’d the salon and expressed my disappointment, AND THEY COMPLETELY IGNORED ME!….it’s been over 2 weeks.It’s a shame because I loved my stylist but will not support a business as unprofessional as this. Clearly they don’t need the business.

I have been going to Studio V for more than 10 years now, and have always been delighted with the service I receive. I'm lucky enough to be a client of Colin Carruthers, a truly excellent stylist and colourist, and frequently am complimented on my hair, sometimes even by complete strangers!

It was my first visit to studio 5. Melissa made me feel very comfortable, she was friendly and paid attention to what I was asking for and my hair turned out perfectly! Very knowledge about the highlights/haircut and I can’t wait to go back! Thank you!Service: Hairstyling
