Student Housing Village

NCCC housing clearly needs to hire more staff to keep the building cleaner and safer or shut down as the condition it is now does not come close to the living standards the housing costs would suggest. There is trash such as old food, dirt, cigarette butts, and a sticky risidue all over the building. This could do with the little to none maintaince staff, and the fact there are no trash bins in the building. The only way to dispose of any trash is to walk all the way around the building to the dumpster in the back that was usually overflowed with garbage. Due to this, residence would throw their garbage bags out the windows, some three floors high, causing the yard to constantly be covered with trash. The laundry facility offered is on the first floor that consists of 4 washers, and 4 dryers, the majority of which are broken and the ones that aren't leave your clothes wet, covered and lint, and smelly. There are fights happening with residents regularly outside or on the stairwells. After my stay was over, I was left with an overwhelming amount of ridiculous fee such as a $30 charge for a dirty microwave, that was never even used by me.

The building is dirty and messy. The staff have no control over student conduct. Also the entire building smells of not only filth but weed as well. For NCCC to be a drug free environment there sure is a lot of that drug in the building. I have a great time attending the school, but the Housing office could do so much more to improve the quality of life for students who do infact dorm.
