My mother was admitted to Strathcona hospital from her care home today and I felt the need to mention that the care she received was incredible. Yes, we were there long but the care she received was so impressive. She was sent for every test imaginable to rule out all possibilities. The security crew, nurses, doctors and porters were so great in dealing with my mom’s needs. One minor mention was the individual that was supposed to help me load my mother into my car basically brought her to the car and left once my mother was standing which I was expecting some additional assistance but the care overall today made me feel the need to come boost the reviews of this facility and its staff. Great work everyone!
First time needing to use the hospital. Everyone, from the triage nurses, registration staff, the other nurses and doctors, including the student EMT that helped me out, all were fantastic. They looked after me, helped me out with my current situation and helped me feel better in the short term while offering solutions for the long term. Yes wait times are long but that's not the staffs fault. Everyone was exceptional and the facility was great. Glad I have the option to seek help out in my community rather than having to drive into Edmonton. Thanks again.
Don’t come here unless you’re dying. The nurses do not care if you have an injury unless it’s life threatening. I came in to get my hand looked at because I hurt it at work keep in mind this was after urgent care closed, the wait time was 3 hours and I waited 5 hours and still wasn’t seen.nnThe peace officer that worked tonight was awesome though. He was taking care of everyone more than the hospital staff, props to him
I went in a few times over the last couple months due to severe panic attacks. Which I normally can handle, but these ones lately have felt like no other. The staff here listened to my concerns and took me serious! They did not brush me off as having “anxiety”, no, they listened to me explain this was a new feeling. They did tests to rule out heart issues, clot issues, etc. just to be safe. They took me serious and for that they have my respect! Thankfully it wasn’t a heart attack or anything, but I will never forget how diligent and respectful and thorough the nurses, lab technicians, the dr, everyone, was for me. Thank you so much for treating me like a human being and for helping me. 100/100!!
I would like to thank Dr. Jain and all his staff at this beautiful facility. I waited for 3 hours before I was taken in. They took good care of me during my 6 hour ordeal in the Trauma room last Wednesday. While I am happy on my overall experience, I would like to make some suggestions. The security lady could have just showed me where to wait for the initial screening rather then just telling me there're signs everywhere. When a person is entering the premises for the first time, disorientated and under the duress of pain, please try to assist. I understand the place gets busy. While Dr. Jain did a great job by occasionally dropping by between my Lab and Imaging tests and explaining me the results, the nurses were MIA most of the time. I could hear them talking behind the drapes but they didn't hear my calls. As there wasn't any help button, I kept trying to get the attention of anyone passing by to ask for some water but was ignored. Finally, a nurse who was working on a computer in front of the room, got my attention. She said she will come and see me after she finish's what she was doing. I am glad she finally came and brought me a glass of water. The nurses should make regular rounds at 15 minute intervals and at least check if their patient is still alive.
