My daughter gave birth here in September. Her first child. Had been in labour for five days...they sent her home saying go to a different hospital...they finally admitted her days later...she lost half her blood...her milk wasn't in yet...the hospital hadn't checked if the baby was peeing and they sent her home without knowing any of this. Our doctor couldn't believe the horrible treatment she got there. Very much wishing we had hired a lawyer. I'm afraid other babies may be at risk
Something nasty sent me to emergency at Stratford General last week. Within 5 hours I was checked out completely including CTScan and sent to my hotel with prescription and instructions to come back if any issues had arisen. Every last person there was professional, efficient and friendly. Being from out of town I needed to get information to my family doctor the next day and even those manning the phones were charming and happy to help me get the information I wanted. Thanks so much to the doctors, nurses, Mike the porter and desk staff.
Such a wonderful hospital — spotless, warm, and inviting! It’s beautifully decorated for Christmas, and every staff member I encountered was so helpful and kind.”
My dear wife had a sudden fall at home, it left her complaining of pain in her head, ribs, and hip. At our age90’s, that’s no small worry.nThe medical team was truly remarkable. They demonstrated such professionalism and expertise—it was clear we were in capable hands. Standing out to me was the way they took the time to explain each step of the diagnostic process. It’s not easy to keep calm in a situation like this, but their clear communication made all the difference, helping to put our minds at ease. Thanks to them, my wife received the treatment she needed.
On Friday, June 28 of this year I decided that the persistent stabbing pain in my left eye wasn't going away, and it was then accompanied by an itchy rash on my temple. I felt stupid going to Emerg on the Friday of the long weekend in the summer, but the nurses were welcoming and funny. The energy was accepting and confident. The triage nurse suggested shingles as the diagnosis and gave me bit of context. I was sent into the actual Emergency department a very busy, yet efficient space and waited about 45 minutes for the physician. He diagnosed the shingles, took me to the Eye care room and checked that the virus hadn't affected the eye ball; sent the prescriptions to my preferred pharmacy and I left.nnI was there for about three hours and received very good treatment as did the other dozen-or-so folks that shared the in-take area with me.nnThanks for the treatment and kindness, Stratford Hospital Emergency Department! You know who you are!nnColleen Murray, proud resident of Stratford, Ontario
