Outstanding a must visit. If you’re in the area, it’s a 1.5 hours of just fun. Don’t call after hours. They r cool, but it’s not fair. Sorry again. U guys made our day. We went back on Saturday for the 5p pumpkin patch train ride with our grandkids and son who drove in from Brooklyn. Needless to say they had a grand old time. All kinds of fun things to do and they got pumpkins to take home. Makes no difference if you’re 91 or 4, again just go. The staff is super friendly and very informative.
The experience was amazing the train was decorated lovely, the train conductor and the helpers where amazing friendly, they past little thing to the kids. Then we took a stop and seen Santa and Miss clause and there friends, where they hat hot chocolate and cookies and other photo props set up to take pictures. They had a tent where the kids could do a letter to Santa and they had a mail box where they could put the litters in. They also had a tent where we where able to take pictures with Santa and little Christmas trees that you could buy while there. It was a amazing experience all kids and adults on the trip enjoyed it. I will high recommend.
Took Hawley excursion on a Wednesday and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a bit early for any real fall foliage but a scenic ride nonetheless. Did spot a bald eagle sitting on a rock in the Lackawaxen River so keep your eyes peeled. Staff was exceedingly friendly and knowledgeable.........seemed to really enjoy their jobs and interacting with the passengers.......anyone taking this train is likely a rail fan so it's nice to support this outfit as they clearly love trains themselves.
My kids had a blast, the train was clean and not crowded, the food was good, and for the money, everything was great. We were on the 5/28 "Movie Train Express" and we had a great time. If I had one criticism, it'd be that the movie could have perhaps started a bit earlier -- maybe 30 mins? -- but it's not a material concern. We had a good time and I'd ride again for sure.
It’s a awesome place to go. If you never have taken your kids or your family to the train express you have too. The staff is amazing and they are wonderful with the children and the parents. I will be making plans to come back next year.
We had a awesome time on our 90 min scenic train ride. We learned lots of historic information and the gentleman who runs the office was very knowledgeable and extremely kind to us. He spent a lot if time speaking with us and giving us tips for visiting the town of Honesdale. We had a lovely day and can't wait to go back for some of the other events.
My family and I had an excellent time on the Ice Cream Express excursion! The crew/staff are more than pleasant, the ride and views are fantastic, and the ice cream is delicious. Great way to experience a train ride in the countryside especially during the foliage. This is great for solo people, group of friends but also families.
