We started going to the free drop in programs for toddlers and I worried I would struggle bringing my 6 month old along with my toddler but I felt so welcomed. We’ve been going weekly now and I feel so welcomed and comfortable each time. It’s a great way to get young kids socializing without any pressure. I really started seeing my daughter opening up today as she played with other kids. They have a fun play area for toddlers with a good amount of seating where parents can relax. The librarian Erna is fantastic. She always has a friendly hello as we come in and is so helpful, patient and kind every time I have a question. The library is so lucky to have her. If the library doesn’t have a book you want they will order it in for you. They have the coolest book return conveyor belt that my toddler loves and easy self serve check out stations but they are more than happy to help you at the desk if you want. I can’t say enough good things about the staff and the atmosphere here.
I want to point out specifically that this library has gender neutral bathrooms!! For trans-folk or non-binary families, this is huge. Thank you, thank you so much for making this public space one where all gender diverse folks will feel safe and respected.

The staff are very kind and outgoing, but there is no control over the noise at all. I understand it's a small library and kids want to have fun, but I think there should be more enforced quiet spaces. I come to the library to read and study, attempting to get some peace of mind, and the environment is extremely distracting.
Every time I have gone to this library the staff have always been kind and helpful to me. When I signed up for a library card, the staff member went through all the ways I could find resources online and apps for my phone that I can download to read magazines and e-books. I really enjoy the online portion where I can request any book I want from other libraries and have it sent to the Stony Plain location. The website is easy to navigate through too. I also often use the self checkout to sign my books out which is quick and easy. And I like that I get email notifications when my books/dvds are due.
Beautiful library, wide open and modern. Great location & the staff remain fantastic
