My seven-year-old son and I visited this spectacular museum! It was the best experience! We recommend a visit here to everyone! Jimmy gave us a wonderful tour and his wife is the sweetest! We loved every minute and could not believe EVERYTHING In this magical place! We tell everyone it is a must! Thank you!!!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Jim and his wife are an amazing wealth of knowledge!! We enjoyed how she ran the shop and he just browsed around catching up with different groups. The place is just full off the most amazing stuff and his lectures and knowledge of it all is just phenomenal! We are gonna go back.a few more times for sure. It will be worth it for sure. Never knew a moths wing tip looked like a snakes head when it flies or sits with its wings open at night so snakes don't eat them. He also has a rock with water in it. Can go om and on and on....see ya soon jim
Fantastic place. Love, love, love it. The museum and the gift shop. Loved her. A total gem. He needs to go. Sexist. Gah. Uses his age "to get away" with whatever awful comments he wants. I get they have been married for forever but honestly he ruins the experience. They both love ALL stones and bones. Fantastic resource if you want to learn. Honestly if my kids were still young I wouldn't bring due to him. My older kids I could explain how wrong his comments were. If he can be avoided this is seriously one of the best places around to visit. So much in such a small place! I live out of town and have been 3 or 4 times in the last 6 or 7 years. My opinion on his rhetoric has not changed. Cringe.
I'm visiting Canada from England and went here with my girlfriend today. One of my favourite museums I've ever visited : Amazing collections and so much to look at despite the small size - I've never really been in a museum like it. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.
Such a cool place, lots to see, A MUST if you are in Sarnia, Ask for George, He is a delight and a highlight of the Museum, an amazing source of knowledge and fun, we ran into him on the way out, he wanted to show us a few things, so glad we took him up on his offer, can't wait to come backVisited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
Worth visiting. At least keep 3 hours to cover this place. The owner is a nice gentleman who has vast knowledge about the items on display. Recommend to have a chat with him.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Great little outing for myself & my favorite Littles aged 2 & 9. Pricing for touring the museum was very fair for the 3 of us. We learned a lot & we loved looking at all the animals- big & small- up close & personal. At the end of our adventure through the museum portion, we checked out the gift shop which had many unique & reasonably priced items. One thing that would have made our experience even more enjoyable would be to have had a tour guide to help us take in all the information Stones 'N Bones has to offer. All that being said, we are sure to be back in the future!!
We had a great time visiting this place with our 3 and 5yr old daughters. Lots to take in, likely only scratched the surface. Lots of taxidermy of large mammals, Dinosaur exhibit and large display of crystals and minerals. We spent about 1.5hrs and we’re able to park on the street side parking for free.
You just can't possibly see it all in one visit! Amazing fossils, beautiful stones, bugs and animals of all kinds... And with the charm of being one man's obsession/collection. Was a huge hit with our 5 year old. Friendly staff who were more than willing to take the time to tell us what they know. We had a great time and will go back for sure!
Absolutely unbelievable! The collection in many areas is superior to large city museums. Jim came to welcome us and stayed for almost 2 hours giving us a memorable behind the scenes and story tour. Our only regret was not allowing g more time to see everything but the good news is we now have a reason to return. One of the most enjoyable museum visits and I have been to many. Thank you for your enthusiasm and dedication. Vic & Liz
