Such a cozy, hidden gem! Their drinks are fantastic if you like your coffee on the sweet side like myself. Food is always yummy, as well, and the staff are so friendly. Would totally recommend!
I’ve come here a few times for the bar scene later in the evening and enjoyed myself. I just recently was walking down king street and saw their menu outside with their fall specials so we went in for coffees to go. I had the Maple Crème Brûlée iced latte first picture, left drink and my friend had the white pumpkin iced latte first picture, right drink and we absolutely loved it. It was probably the best coffee/latte I’ve ever had. So good that I went back the next day for lunch with a coworker and gave the food a go. My coworker ordered the flat white and the soup of the day. She described the butternut squash soup as “a hug in a bowl”. I ordered the same maple crème brûlée iced latte and a bacon breakfast sandwich with a homemade hashbrown. My food was really good as well, the bacon was crispy to my liking. There’s nothing worse than having floppy microwaved bacon so this was a very pleasant surprise. My sandwich could have used more sauce but I also really love my sauces so that’s just preference. Overall, I’m super impressed and the experiences I’ve had the few times I’ve gone, show why this place is still open and what seems to be thriving.
Absolute horrible experience at 12:15 pm on Tuesday, May 26th. I purchased a double espresso and cappuccino. As I entered my vehicle and attempted to place the espresso in my vehicle's cupholder the lid slipped off and the liquid spilled all over my console and everything in it including my cellphone. Why did the lid slip off? The pictures will show precisely why it did. When a double cup is used the lid has nowhere to grip. Hence the reason it was never actually secured in the first place. I would have went back in and let the staff know but I was rushed for time. Honestly though judging by the taste of my wife's cappuccino I know full I won't be back. If the cappuccino was remotely decent I probably wouldn't have left this review. I don't pride myself in leaving a small business a 1 star review but in this case it was absolutely warranted. Besides all this I've been to many artisinal cafés and have never ever been served my cappuccino before my espresso which struck me as odd and they weren't even busy at the time. I was so surprised that I actually inquired about my espresso thinking possibly that they may have forgotten about it. Normally the first pull is the espresso regardless of whether it's to go or not. It's just part of the natural process. Please pay a little more heed when grabbing cups from their stacks. A little awareness and attention to detail could have went a long way in the case.
We visited for the first time for breakfast. Unfortunately, the espresso machine wasn’t working, so lattes weren’t available. We ordered matcha instead, which was good. I’ve attached some pictures of the drinks and food.nnWhen our food arrived, my friend found a hair in her plate, which was off putting. Although my own dish tasted great, we ended up notifying the server after finding hair in two separate items…one in a complimentary meringue sample and another in the food we had ordered.nnThe staff member assisting us was wonderful, very kind, apologetic, and professional. She comped my friend’s breakfast, as she hadn’t started eating, and also offered us a croissant on the house. Her customer service was truly appreciated.nnThat said, the repeated presence of hair was concerning. It may be due to the nearby barber shop, but it’s an issue that should be addressed. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t return, though we recommend they find a solution… maybe keeping the door closed to prevent this from happening in the future.
Such a nice place. We had amazing super fresh Benny's and delicious coffee Overall very friendly and cozy and definitely recommended.
