I am absolutely impressed with Dennis customer service at these two arenas. This may be an older arena but Dennis always goes above and beyond cleaning the glass for me to take photos of my boys hockey games. Thank you so much for your help all these years. Wish there is a Dennis in all those other arenas.
Parts of this building are really starting to show their age. Was here for my sons ball hockey, he was on the older side of the building and it just seems dark, dingy and depressing. Ran into the lady who was in charge of running the place, she got to telling me about the cutbacks that were made due to budgets. She was having to run the building by herself while there was two hockey games going on and a baseball game outside which apparently she is responsible for too. She was doing all she could. This place could really use some extra staffing to keep it going. Its not the worst rink I've been it but its certainly not the best either. On the plus side there is a ton of parking which is great.
Decent arena, updated and functional for junior hockey. Spaces are well lit and seems sanitized. Good dressing room facility, though limited to 6-8 players COVID restrictions Parking is adequate, and it is quick to access from out of town, not far from 16th Ave.
The ice is in good shape, parking is decent and the stands are okay. My big complaint is there’s ONE six foot bench to lace your kids skates up. I just counted and there are 23 kids on the ice right now! Parents have to sit on the dirty floor wherever you can find space. I don’t know what we’re all going to do when it’s slushy in here!
This is one of the rinks ManCub plays at in Rec hockey. Not much to say. It"s a hockey rink. The heaters rarely work. The seats are uncomfortable. And in certain areas it smells like the elation of winning, the sadness of loss and Axe body spray.
If the staff and security doesn't know their job they should shut their mouth and stay out of the way. Learn the rules behind the vaccination mandate and who you should be checking
Stew Hendry is a great arena. I wish that they would renovate Henry Viney. Dressing rooms for player's and official's need to be bigger.
Dressing rooms are a bit on the Henry Viney side and dated. Stew Hendry side has been updated in the last decade and better rooms. The ice is in the smaller side and both sheets feel a bit slow but, overall they're good.
There is plenty of parking but it is far away. Difficult for a 12 year ild to carry a goalie bag. No consessions. Vending machines break often. The nets use the very poor 4 pring holders. The ice surface is good. The stands are cold. The sightlines in Stu Hendry are poor Henry Viney are good though
Easy disabled access right into the rink.
