Probably one of the best dinners I've ever had. The best comparison for this steakhouse is Gibby's in MTL, and the steak at Sterling just way outmatched it. My other dishes were just as wonderful as the steak. Absolutely bonkers that they could develop this flavour profile in their steak, it's just a unique experience. The menu had a nice amount of protein and seafood options without being overwhelming. It's such a red flag if a restaurant menu is too long, and this one is perfect. Service was incredible, I had the best time. Super considerate, experienced servers that you just don't find elsewhere. Everyone knew their stuff. Had an awesome little tour from the manager and a great conversation. The wine list is comprehensive and has a ton of price points. They had our favourite Portuguese import! Atmosphere is also unbeatable - Really gorgeous restaurant. Yeah, no notes, super thankful for the experience.
Beautiful view of the Gatineau river sitting on the nice patio. Food is amazing, had a delicious New York steak with all the different sauces on the side , for appetizer braised Scallop and a spectacular Burrata salad! Service was really good. A definite thumps up, you won't be disappointed.
It’s a great old-school but updated steakhouse that does serve really good steaks. Honestly, I prefer eating steak at nice restaurants that also have other specialties over full-on steakhouses like this. I think it is the best of this genre in Ottawa/Gatineau. Staff are experienced as you’d imagine and it is a nice setting next to the river.
This place is the definition of "the best steak house" in the capital region. Amazing views, exceptional service, and some of the best food I have I had in the city. The 20oz cowboy steak melts in your mouth and was exploding with flavors. Stop going to trash steakhouses and go to Sterling to discover what a steak should taste like.
Amazing service and excellent food! Our server was Stefan and he made our night! The anniversary touch was extremely thoughtful! We will be back for sure!
Cowboy beef taste very very good. I feel Scallop too expensive and small portions. Beef tata appetizer and soup is average.
First time at Sterling. We had the wild boar and the steak for the main course. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. The price however, is ridiculous. For that reason, it’s a onetime visit for us. Dinner for 2 with 2 glasses of wine will definitely be over $250. Not worth it :
Great food and service. We were seated inside but the restaurant has a great patio with nice views of Ottawa River. The pationis by the road but it does not seem too busy. I had surf and turf apetizer which consisted one jumbo shrimp and 1/4 cup beef tartare served with yummy crackers. Perfect size of appetizer in my view. Tasty and nicely served. I had a goat cheese filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes. Good size portion, not too big and not too small. Goat cheese adds amazing and interesting flavor to the steak. Potatoes were very smooth and tasty. Nice presentation however the dish could use a nice garhish of fresh herbs like parsley or chives but that is a very small detail. For desert I had peacan cake. I though I was getting and pie but the piece was bigger then expected. Coffee was a bit bitter. Overall a great experience. Parking: Plenty of parking.
In town visiting and went out for dinner. From the soup to dessert, the four course meal was delicious. I will be back when in town again. George and Jonathan were great and not intrusive but attentive. Was also a pleasure seeing the owner who took the time to catch up from years ago.
You can see how many dead mussels here. For such a fine dining restaurant, it is totally unacceptable. Asked several times for the bread and it comes together with starter, maybe the bread was just ready at that time. The service is good and staffs are friendly.
