We don't have a real college, because forget getting a job around here. Here you can become a minister, and become the head priest of your own church, seeing as there's 70 churches in town already.
I found that SBC has abandoned solid Biblical teaching in favor of progressive theology. Definitely an adaptive approach to the current social dialogue rather than standing on the unchanging word of God. One of my children attended a class where the professor highlighted "the good things" about Karl Marx. Karl Marx was a professed atheist never mind who was ultimately responsible for over 100 million deaths and over 50% of the worlds population starving in the 20th century. Beware of the progressive movement that has infected this institution and so many more.
SBC is a great learning environment. The school cares about the academic success and also the spiritual well being of their students. My classes were challenging and memorable and I look forward to more classes next year.
SBC is one of the best experiences that I have ever had and continue to have. If you're considering attending I'd recommend talking to a mentor in your life. Prayerfully consider it and ensure that God is calling you before you make a decision. Community is a word you will hear a lot of. And there is a reason there are almost only 5 star reviews. Be prepared to examine your own theology however. Even if you do believe absolutely everything that the Profs do you should be coming with an open mind and heart. You are constantly subconsciously changing your theology anyways so it might even be good for you to catch yourself in something. SBC has helped me to find the space to learn a lot more about God, others, and myself. If you are looking for a stable college this is the place for you.
Steinbach Bible college is a great place to go. I grew a lot spiritually , personally, and intellectually. I got awesome friends here, got to deal with awesome faculty and other staff members. A significant part of the experience is the dorm life. It is incredible how great it is to constantly live in the community of friendly, willing to help people, who have many similar interests in common, and who have the same faith and values.
Coming to SBC is one of the best decisions that I could’ve made! The staff and faculty are passionate about their calling to teach and bring others closer to God; and the community life is amazing! I’m so glad that God brought me to this place.
Come for the education, stay for the community. A common and repeated story one hears from students is that they came to SBC for a year or two, and ended up staying for longer. This is my story, too. The first time I saw, among the core values hung from banners in the halls, the value of "Community", I thought, "we'll see". People say things. Companies and organizations have mission statements and core values, but whether they're lived out daily is often another thing. I discovered that, at SBC, these core values are not just words; they are reality. All of them. Including community. It blew me away. So, eager to learn more about what it means and looks like to live and work and be as part of a community, I stayed. The quality of instruction is excellent, and one gets the sense that professors care deeply and genuinely about who students are, what they are learning, and that their hearts become engaged by what is taught. One feels like a human, not one of many in a faceless crowd. This is a place of learning and also of connection. I came for the learning. I stayed for the community.
SBC has been such a positive life giving experience for me this year. As a first year student, I had the opportunity to go deeper with God and grasp a better understanding of how to read His word. I was warmly embraced by the community portrayed by both faculty and students. Classes were full of wisdom, awe and wonder. In attending class I realized that there is always more to learn! SBC provides students a positive learning environment, lots of support, as well as opportunities to apply what is learned in class to our world today. I am so thankful for my experience at SBC and can not wait to see how God will work in the coming year!
Steinbach Bible College's core values are Bible, Community, Discipleship, and Mission, and you don't have to be a student for very long before you experience all of them through their intentional program and community. I highly recommend SBC for anyone wanting a solid biblical education in the context of a caring community.
Blessed to have attended my first of 3 years in the BA Christian Leadership program. Excellent professors, wonderful community. Grace-filled, Christ-centered!
