Almost 5 stars. Why do people go out for BBQ? is the meat. I had the beef brisket & it was very good and tender & I liked the butlers sauce. Good price too! Esp now as meat prices are through roof now. Friendly great service but needs a place to write tip! Deducting 1/2 star that even though soft & tasty & I know are skin on & seasoned fries and you get A LOT with sandwich That, still seemed too dark. I like fries par cooked then fried instead fried so long they get too dark colored. And also though a great deal on the sandwich I feel 2.99 seems pricey for 4oz of slaw & pot salad. Maybe next time I'll try the pork with carolina style vinegar sauce. It does hit the spot for that bbq craving, flavors and freshness seemed very good.
Tried the 3 meat and it was delicious. The burnt ends and brisket were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The wings were decent. What stood out was the sauce - I choose the apple bourbon and another sweet & mild one. Both were fire.
We’ll been looking for good bbq and drove past a few times finally stopped in and damn it I dunno why I drove by wow the customer service was amazing owner was there and the food holy Sh$t so good ordered rack of ribs and you gotta get burnt tips holy cow man a must visit location
I have been here several times, food is awesome! We are enjoying the brisket burnt end meal with Mac n cheese bites, and pit beans. Daughter has the pulled chicken sandwich, which after a try was found to be very moist and flavorful. Another has a full rack of ribs! Sauces are all very good. If you even remotely like bbq, you gotta give this place a try!
All meats were tasty and the portions were very generous. Not over or under done - good smoke rings. The brisket was sliced to perfection and pulled pork was smoked nice. Finally a good bbq experience lackluster places around the area for bbq lately this place was game changer! The beans were very good and smoky, reminds me of over the campfire. My only recommendation is to extend the hours a bit. I feel like closing at 7 is pretty dang early, especially on the weekend. Other than that, I'm glad to wipe clean the memory I had of mission BBQ. That place was awful. Same price but way more bang for the buck @ the Steamboat. Superior BBQ.
Service was very good, curbside pickup. The smoked wings and rib tips were good and flavorful. Fries are fresh cut potatoes. The bread pudding is a nice size.
I really love the food on this place but; the way they change everything including on service is a joke. Once the pandemic started they changed their menu from having a lot of great things to a few things. Also, the way you order. Did you know that there is a lot of people that don’t know how to use online ordering? Before pandemic we can call in an order and pick up. Now, they answer but they don’t let you order over the phone. You have to do it only online. For all of these reasons I give them 4 stars.
Edit back in town for the day. Stopped in to say hey and Johnny is at the counter. Brisket sandwiches are better than I remember. Stop in today and make your mouth happy. Johnny and his crew are top notch. Love the burnt ends. Best brisket in town!
This place is likely one of the best BBQ in Illinois! The burnt ends, pulled pork, brisket and ribs are all amazing. Pulled chicken and beans, cornbread are also great. Well worth the wait. They also are excellent at catering any event large or small. I’ve used them for birthday parties to large 300 person corporate events. Would recommend this to anyone!!
Rib tips and chicken wings were very hard and dry. Tasted like they were sitting under a heat lamp for hours. Even the mediocre bbq sauces could not soften the meat. The service was just as terrible as the food. It seemed like the lady who took my order would've liked to be anywhere else but there talking to me. No smile, no eye contact, and no interest. One thing that I can't stand is a bad attitude and this person was the epitome of "Mad Black woman "! I will not be back. Do yourself a favor and find another bbq place.
