This hike gives wonderful rewards for relatively less effort (five km or so on well maintained trail). See fossilized trilobites but do not take them. See the glaciers, high waterfall and cold rushing stream.

Easy to moderate. Excellent path with switchbacks takes you up to the ridge. We did it in late May and as you get higher the path gets mucky and still has snow in some places. We chose to end our hike at the top of the ridge because of the snow. But, at this point you will get an incredible view of Mt. Stanley and the glacier basin. Gorgeous. Several viewpoints along the way give an unencumbered view of Castle Mt.
