This is a good basic hotel for a good price. The room was clean and comfortable despite not having A/C some rooms have A/C, some don't, and it's in a great location! The beds were comfy, and there was a clean mini-refrigerator in the room. The food at the attached bar and restaurant was good, and the staff was friendly and helpful! The only issue was that our room was not ready at the check-in time of 3pm, but we didn't have to wait long, and the staff worked to get the room ready quickly since we were waiting!
Went here for a wedding and the room was fine, restaurant decent and the service excellent. The ceremony was on the lawn behind the dance hall with the reception inside the dance hall. The food was great, the staff attentive & helpful. It seems like a great place to hold an event of any sort.Rooms: 4/5
This was my first visit to Idaho and I stayed at this resort for 5 days. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here. 1 The rooms were clean and comfortable. I stayed in the deluxe queen double bed room. That room included 2 beds, Ac/heating, carpeted flooring, clean bathroom, TV, Wifi 2 The staff was very courteous and professional. 3 Their hot tub by the river is a unique experience. It has a beautiful view, clean changing rooms, well maintained hot tub with a sand bottom. You have to make a reservation for a session at the tub its free. Based on the volume of reservations, it isn't guaranteed that you will have the tub to yourself, however. You may end up sharing it with 2-3 others at the same time. I was able to have the tub to myself for my reserved hour. 4 The resort is in a perfect location bordering all 3 national forests. Perfect proximity to the best trails and hot springs from there. 5 The resort also has a restaurant and a gas station in the same complex which makes it convenient for tourists. Especially because there is nothing else closeby in the next 50 mile radius. And the food prepared by the restaurant is yummy!
It was a great place close to the restaurant. The beds need a new mattress or a pillow top and wished there were more pillows. Also wished there was another soaking tub. Fills up fast so we didn't get a chance to use it. That was the reason for my trip.Rooms: 3/5
Rooms are old. Shower head leaked so much that I had to wrap it with a big towel so the bathroom floor wouldn't get soaked. Huge gap between the door and the floor so tons of cold air came in and the furnace would run non-stop. Definitely needs some updates. But prices were good.Rooms: 2/5
I had such a great time at Mountain Village. The front office and view from my room had a lot to do with that. I would highly recommend you check out Mountain Village weather you are just passing through or looking for a nice place to stay while in town. They have hook ups for campers, and you can reserve some time at their hot spring. Connected to the hotel is also a bar/restaurant that you can you can hang out with the friendly locals.
I stayed here 8/29/22, as a kick off point for backpacking the Alice-Toxaway loop the next day. The rooms were clean and surprisingly updated. The restaurant has good food and drinks. Service was great. Hot springs was a nice addition. Would highly recommend and will be booking again for next season!Rooms: 5/5
Carpets are SO dirty and musty. Don’t look under the beds or in the corners! Bugs all over the ceiling in the bathroom. Gum was on one of the arms of the wooden chairs, and the table wasn’t wiped down when we got checked in. Mysterious stains on the walls. The beds are extra creaky, which didn’t bother us much though. The sheets seemed clean. I mean, you’re here to be outdoors and not stay in a hotel the entire time, but I wasn’t very impressed with the cleaning services. I know there’s only 3 housekeepers, so I’m understanding, but not sure if we’d stay here again.
Terrible experience. So much so that we had a second night of reservation, but left early, foregoing $100+ of one night's rent. The hotel is very old construction. When someone walks across the wooden walkways the noise and creaking jar the entire building, making it impossible to sleep, not to mention inconsiderate guests who literally danced like insane elephants in the room upstairs from ours. The hotel also advertises exclusive reservations for the hot spring nearby, but when asked about that at the front desk, we were told it's a free for all and up to 8 people can go into the 4 foot by 4 foot hot spring at a time. As a reader, you're free to make your own decisions, but I'd never touch this hotel with a 10 foot pole...oh, one positive thing here is that you can use the mattresses in the room as a desk, so there's that. We went there to see the grandeur of the Sawtooth range but it turned out that wasn't meant to be after an hour of sleep overnight in this godforsaken hotel.
Love staying at Mountain Village Resort. Rooms are clean and comfy. Our room had two bedrooms and a great room so we could all have some privacy. Close to food and shopping in Stanley and close to a bunch of terrific trailheads + Redfish Lake! The hot springs access and view is icing on the cake!Rooms: 4/5
