Stamford Health Department

The COVID-19 distribution of rapid test and vaccinations is terrible! You make it difficult for someone like me who is home bound with difficult walking I don’t current id because I can’t get out of my home let alone travel to Norwalk and stand on line for hours there’s no place in Stamford to get new id either. Then you say you covered vulnerable at risk populations first on Sunday a holiday weekend New Years. I am an at risk vulnerable at risk individual I knew nothing about this and now I’m sick on top of it extremely ill if you make this so difficult to access vaccines and testing there are people who will avoid it which will make documenting cases more difficult therefore making this spread more especially to people like me who have underlying illnesses. I honestly believe that people like me it really doesn’t matter to local politicians if we succumb to this because you would do WAY better to get testing and vaccinations to my demographic. This new Mayor is not telling the truth it’s not right at all:

I contacted the Stamford Health Department upon the advice of my doctor after I was bitten by a stray cat to determine if I needed the rabies vaccine. Jim, from the lab department, went above and beyond to help me and even contacted animal control and the State department to ensure he provided me with a thorough recommendation. His communication was great and he was so comforting and reassuring through the whole process! The City needs more employees like him.

Horrible experience with one of the health inspectors at a property that we were looking to purchase. There is water that drains into the property from the city road and we weren't sure where the water was going. The health inspector was very rude and unprofessional. We tried calling him to see if we could ask any questions regarding the property but he didn't answer so he eventually called back and yelled out "What do you want? I'm very busy"...Not a way to talk to anyone, regardless of who it is. Each encounter was a horrible experience. The health inspector's name was Josh Polur...stay away. Zero ability to work with others.
