Very cozy and vibrant local market, but kinda packed. The food options were excellent. I enjoyed a December special coffee, Maple Black Walnut Latte, from Everyday Gourmet cafe, and a charming canelé from a bakery shop on the first floor.nI was hoping to try the famous lobster sandwich but the line was way too long during the holiday season Maybe I will have better luck grabbing one on a weekday.
St. Lawrence Market is a food lover’s paradise! The variety of fresh produce, delicious baked goods, and unique artisan products is incredible. It’s the perfect spot to explore, grab a bite, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. A must-visit in the city!
The market has many local businesses that sell fresh produce, meats, pasta, seafood, and baked goods. It’s a great place to stop by to shop for local and fresh food. There are also many options for a quick meal, including pasta, bagels, fish and chips, sushi, and more. Everything is fairly priced and there is so much to explore in the market!
Nov 2024 SOUTH BLDG Indoor heritage building housing 2 levelled market spaces with dining and retail spaces.nnA number of well placed sections for fresh and some local market produce as well as dry goods.nnDo check out the lower levels for provision marketing.nnIdeal for weekday visits as tourists often visit during weekends and seasonal days.
This market is honestly such a hidden gem in Downtown Toronto. It has such a diverse range of small businesses that specialize in everything from cheeses, teas, pastries, breads, deli meats, seafood, and the freshest looking produce I’ve seen in a really long time.nnPersonally, as a sweets lover, this place had 2 cute little bakery stands that stood out to me. Both bakeries had such a large variety of cakes, pastries, cookies, tarts etc. This would honestly be a great place to grab some treats for a corporate Christmas party and really wow your co-workers. I personally would recommend the peach cookies from Future Bakery. They were absolutely delicious and my only regret was not getting more.nnThe only issue fault I could find with this market is that because most of these booths are run by small businesses and are artisanal and handcrafted products, you do pay a premium price for products. Some products are worth spending the extra money for like the peach cookies, but others, like the bakery downstairs is definitely not as they were charging $16 for 6 macaron pieces. You definitely have to dig around a little, but you can definitely find some good deals.nnThe only other thing I’d suggest keeping in mind is that there is a second floor to this market. If you are looking for a specific booth and can’t find it, chances are it’s in the basement of the building. There is a staircase leading down with a small sign so make sure to keep an eye out for it and check out all the special businesses.nnIn general, I’d definitely say this market is worth the visit. There are definitely some amazing finds and it’s a cute little place to visit with family or friends. Just be sure your wallet is prepared for the hit it’s going to take.
