Charming small church by the Rivière des Prairies waterfront. Very inviting from the exterior, however, in great need of some care inside. Don't let that stop you from having a visit, while lighting a candle and making a small donation. This church stands on a heritage site belonging to the old village of Rivières-des-Prairies. After digging up a little info on this charming church, this is what I discovered. Back in the 17th century, the Sulpicians began granting land to settlers. In 1687, this parish was founded. The area remained rural until the early 20th century. Therefore, the church stood isolated as a rising star. Finally, a true gem to admire. Looking forward to a better maintenance in the future.
Hello, can you write your email so that I can contact you? The subject is very important.
Beautiful church and terrific priest. Lovely wedding with organ and church bells. Perfect picture location across the street by the river, park, benches and trees.
This church is in the middle of what would be best described as the Old Town of Rivière-des-Prairies RDP. Most Montrealers believe that this part of town is one of the newest in Montreal. While this is true for most of the neighborhoods of RDP, the area surrounding this old church was settled earlier, but the exact dates remain unclear. The church of St-Joseph of RDP was built in the second half of the 19th century.
The view around the church is spectacular and the inside is even more amazing, it's just breathtaking!
