St. John River District Hospital

I've been going to this hospital for minor testing and minor emergency's for years but when I took my mother to emergency department at 10:00 pm one night a couple months ago it was bad service. They couldn't take care of my mother in an efficient time frame, they were too busy, 1 doctor 8-10 cubicles. We had them take her IV out and we drove to Detroit.

Brought my daughter and her newborn (first baby) to ER per doctor's answering service advice because he was looking jaundice. We get there and I say in the waiting room letting my daughter take the lead. She told the nurse what the doctor said and the nurse asked why she brought him in? She made her doubt herself, and treated her like it was ridiculous to have brought her baby in. Then when I left the ER room she asked her how often she nurses him. He is a newborn mind you. She said that she feeds him every 2 hours or when he fusses, and usually he falls asleep during the feeding. She said it wasn't enough and she was probably starving her baby. When I got back to the room. The baby was fussing and I picked him up while Ashley signed the release papers. While I was talking to my Grandson, she remarked in a snotty voice that he was going to be a spoiled baby. I immediately replied if I am doing my job right he will be. All of the things that happened were told to me after we left. My daughter was really upset and so am I!!!!!!!!

This places way of business is terrible. I went in yesterday morning for strep throat. I received an antibiotic after 3 hour wait. On the paperwork given to me it said if any symptoms get worse or something else occurs call the health care provider. I called later that night and the staff that answered the phone was absoultly rude and terrible. No matter what I said to her she consistently interrupted me by saying we cannot give any information over the phone. Today I received a call from the hospital as a check up curtosy call and the woman who I talked was extremely rude as well. I asked her why it says that on the paper if there's no way the hospital can give out medical advice. She could not give me an answer all she said was that the staff on that night should've told me to come in. This place is slow, poorly staffed, rude staff, and ran poorly. I will never go back

St. John River District Hospital Theresa Serra in the last week Never again will I go here. Brought my son in for a his ankle, it looked like he had a soft ball on the side of his ankle , they took us back right away, nurse guy came in room took my sons vitals , and then said doctor will be in soon. After 1 hour no doctor , no anybody, and they didn't even give him a ice pack. Then I ask where the restroom was, and omg I walked into what was a Macomb county jail toilet and sink, and no paper towel dispenser , came out and said there is not paper towel to dry your hands off with ? There response was each room has paper towel in them ...REALLY ...GROSS ...went back to room and got my son and we left ...and guess what went to St Johns Main on moross , and my son ended up with a broken ankle....thanks riverside for nothing Helpful?
