St George's Anglican Church

About

St George's is a welcoming community seeking to know Jesus Christ and to make Christ known.

Story

St George's Church is a welcoming community in the heart of downtown Montreal. We worship and meet together in the Anglican tradition and are a part of the Anglican Diocese of Montreal as well as the Anglican Church of Canada.

——— Our weekly services are held ———
Sunday – 09:00am – BCP Eucharist
Sunday – 10:30am – Choral Eucharist
Wednesday – 12:15pm – Informal Eucharist and Bible Study
*** Crosstalk Ministries holds its monthly youth gathering at St George's at 7pm on the 3rd Sunday of every month, except for the summer break.

We are a diverse group of people meeting together. We come from all walks of life and from many different countries and cultures. We meet together in the knowledge that we are all one in Jesus Christ and because of this we can celebrate our diversity.

Our Sunday services draw upon the rich traditions of Anglican worship practices and through them we seek to help people connect with God. Come join us!

Mission

To actively witness to the love and hope that is given to each of us as we open our hearts and minds to God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and to share this whole‐heartedly with those who live, work and study in downtown Montreal.

Tempus fugit, eh? Between 1952-56, I was a wee cub-scout and we met in the basement of that church. Fun fact: Another cub-scout and I were stopped by police going home March 20, 1955. Montreal was under curfew after the Richard riot, March 17. Shrewd police saw us as no threat to Dorchester street and sent us off home.
Beautiful smaller Church that looks very inconspicuously from the outside but from the inside all the more beautiful is. Many ornaments and very beautiful wood. A recommendation for anyone who likes churches with wood and ornaments.
Best church in the whole wide world. Inside and outside, it has the best gothic architecture rivaling the Notre Dame. And guess what? It has free Wi-Fi. Also, if you're a struggling student, you can have free meals here to save money! I took pictures of the free food schedule. Voila!
I use to enjoy the Thursday hot meal. God Bless, and Merci Beaucoup.
Such a cute a peaceful church. Watch out for the publics works in progress outside tho. A bit noisy.
During our visit to Montreal, we went to the St. George's Anglican Church. A very beautiful Church with stain glass windows. The congregation were very nice and friendly.
Beautiful and historic church in downtown area. Nice balance between tradition and contemporary issues in the preaching. Open every day from 9-4. Services offered on Wednesday at lunch time and Sunday at 9am and 10:30am.
St. George's Anglican Church is a heritage church in Downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The church is on Stanley Street on the corner of De la Gauchetière Street, although it also faces Peel Street and is opposite Place du Canada.
It's a good place to relax and have coffee and have some soup for lunch. Every Tuesday. And Thursday. There is a meal. For lunch. It's open from 9AM to 3PM during the week.
