I went for a business lunch. The service was good. The soup was very good. The fish was nicely presented and seasoned well. The Chocolat cake for dessert was perfect. We were a large group with a set menu. I will go back to eat their again for a date night for sure.
We were seated near the entrance and the fours of us felt that is was cold. The banquette was narrow and didn't offer much space. The menus were damaged and used and were due to be changed. The food was ok but a lot of items were offered at extra cost without the cost being announced at first, making us feel cheap for asking ex: savoured mayonnaise at $1.50 extra while ordering a $117 filet mignon for 2...felt weird. The meat was tender but the plate was full of veggies pretty much all mixed together and not tasting much. The service was efficient even tough the waitress lack the self-consciousness needed to realize that she spoke to loudly. She overcharged us a beer but never told us. We realized it only after having paid and when we told her, she answered that she already knew it but never had the decency to come and tell us...which basically means that she ripped us off and didn't offer to reimburse it. Overall it was overpriced and far from a true culinary experience, sadly a typical suburb experience around Montreal. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free items
Great staff and fantastic food! Our Chateaubriand was delicious, with everything that accompanied it rare case where the meal and the experience worth every penny
Service was not as good as the previous times I was there .I finished my coffee about 8 min before they finally brought my desert. Then I had to get up and put my Jacket on I order to get my bill. True shame.that one meal out of four can trigger a frustration that makes me question if I will return .It's amazing how one waitresses lack of customer service etiquette can affect a restaurants repeat customers.
Good stake and reasonable prices. Very friendly staff
Bad ambiance, jam packed dining room and greasy fingerprint tables. I feel bad for the servers having to weave their way through tables and chairs like that. Having employees and other customers brushing past your chair every few seconds is terrible ambiance. Very cramped and crowded. That said, our server was very attentive and friendly. She is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. The food was okay, not great for the price. The 12oz cote de boeuf was at least one third fat and gristle, which their steak knives have a hard time cutting through. The au jus was cold, and our baked potatoes $5 extra each for "fully loaded" were under cooked and clearly had the cheese melted on them before service, not to order. The steaks were cooked okay, but were bland and cooled very quickly. Also found it unsanitary that the servers bring an entire tray of uncovered desserts to your table and drop them in front of you as a way of asking if you'd like dessert. How many tables has that tray of food been to before mine? Bizarre and off putting. Disappointed to have spent our 10 year anniversary here. Very glad we had gift certificates to use, our experience was not worth the full price.
Disappointed. Not worth the price, not worth the service. The hostess seemed confused with what to do with us as we walked in we were 2 people and kept speed walking back and forth, we stood there waiting for quite a while and yet the place wasn't packed, hence our confusion for the long wait time to be seated. Not a welcoming feeling, not a good first impression. Service was slow, friendly but slow. Thought it was just us but we witnessed a table walk out after waiting a while to pay for their bill too. We almost did the same thing but needed the machine to pay. They seemed to be understaffed, which might explain this. Steaks are great but unjustified by the price as it seems overpriced. Overall experience, would I go back? No.
The taste and quality of the food is definitely not worth the price. It lacks flavour and seasoning. Also the chairs were dirty, at that price point I’m expecting to as least have clean and non-sticky chairs. I HIGHLY suggest going going to The Keg for a similar even a bit cheaper price and way better tasting food. Because you’re honestly just paying for the cute little presentation they do on the plates at Steakhouse St-Charles, which isn’t worth at the end because the food is so bland.
The neutral - Restaurant is weirdly located at the “back” of a strip mall. The bad - First table they assigned us was broken as the folding extension part wouldn’t stay closed and kept hitting us in the leg. Calamari appetizer is the pre battered frozen kind and tasted like freezer burn. The good - 14oz New York cut steak was cooked to perfection and tasted really good. Service was attentive and impeccable.
Service was awkward maybe because we were with kids she didn't give it her best. She served from the left and across the table but knew exactly what to say to suggest a wine and when we took a lower end bottle she was gracious. The food was hit or miss, I had the lamb and it was excellent but my husband's bavette was blue. He asked for medium rare and flank steak is not really the cut you want undercooked, it was too hard to eat so he left it in the plate but when she cleared the plates she didn't even open the conversation about how we enjoyed our meal, she just left with the plates. We didn't have dessert.
