Good afternoon, I am writing to file a complaint about an incident that occurred today at the St. Catharines bus terminal. Today, February 26, 2011, between 9:50 AM and 10:00 AM, I was in line waiting for the door to open for bus 312 Vine St - Lakeshore. While I was looking at my phone behind me, one of the bus station employees opened a door in the employee area very forcefully and hit me in the back. It was so forceful that it almost knocked me over. When I turned around to see what had happened, the man didn't even have the courtesy to apologize. He simply said there was a sign about not obstructing the door and left. The man was very rude, and the experience was unpleasant. I understand that there is a sign that says not to obstruct the door, but I didn't see it; I was just waiting. Employees using that door should be careful or install a window to check if anyone is waiting in front of it. If there had been a child or an elderly person there, they might have been hurt or tripped simply because of one of their employees' carelessness. All I can say about the irresponsible person who opened the door is that they were a bit older and were wearing the company uniform and jacket, which are gray. I don't know their name. I hope they become more aware of the situation and are more careful.
I’ve come to learn that apparently I can’t rely on the transit system to get me to work on time. I take the crosstown. Last Monday it was 20 minutes late. I leave my house 50 minutes before my shift starts just so that I can get to work on time. Well Monday I didn’t make it to work until 15 minutes after my shift started, all because the bus that eventually came was out of service upon reaching the terminal. Fine. I was gonna let it go until this morning Sunday. My shift started at 8. I’m currently writing this at 8:20am from home. Why? Well apparently on Sundays, there’s no service before 10 am?? When did this happen? It used to run at 6:30 am every day! So does the world not exist before 10am on a Sunday? Thankfully my boss understands why I’m going to be 3 hours late for work today.
This place is great. The homeless problem isn't much of an issue if you just ignore it. The buses that normally show up late are not normally the bus drivers fault. Cause you have to account for how many people get on during the trip. Same with getting off on the way back to the terminal. And you also have to account for traffic and weather. Based on all those factors. It can be late or early. I only have seen a bus appear on time once. And that was because it was the last ride of the night. When the bus drivers get off to switch drivers at times. They may take longer because they are waiting on the next driver to show. The buses appearing later then the time on the app is not the bus company's fault. They have no way of giving you an exact time because of the factors I said before. I will agree if a bus drives past you, that is unacceptable. So that's why I've given it four stars. Because it's happened to me a few times. It sucks, yea. But accounting for most weather. He may have not seen you. If it's a nice warm day out. So what? Wait for another bus. You can handle waiting. So suck it up.
This place is like a zoo you can see two legged creatures acting strangely like you've never seen before and making weird noises. The zoo keepers just sit inside and open the washroom doors for people and do not manage the creatures at all.
