Great place with an interesting historical perspective in a beautiful setting. Khaki and serpentine surrounding areas have roots back to the gold songs and silver mining era.
A fabulous historical sternwheeler in Kaslo. Well preserved with an informative video at the basement level. I suggest seeing the video first we saw it after for a greater understanding of the parts and functions of this beauty. Staff was very well informed and friendly. Highly recommended!
This was so cool to be able to walk around on and see what she used to look like! We couldn't go to the top floor and the bottom level was full of time pieces of luggage, crates of stuff, farming stuff, tools, vehicles and a very old fire truck. It was very interesting to see and read about that time on the Kootenay Lake!
Fun to explore the old sternwheeler. They had a fun scavenger hunt for the kids to do as well which made it more interesting for them. From.the top level you can view an osprey nesting as well.

The S.S. Moyie is the star in Kaslo, a town loaded with history and wonderful architecture. The brochure for the self-guided tour is well done.
I would come back and see this again. Roped off rooms allow you to see inside accommodations with the artifacts. Lovely decor inside. Lower area is interesting with many antiques you might miss on the first pass. Upper levels are no wheelchair accessible. Check out the caboose as well, along with the miner's cabin.
