This is a great campground with nice showers/restrooms and plenty of hiking trails. It feels country but your only 5min from Marion which has lots of shopping and dinning options. I highly recommend the water park in town. The playground at the campsite is amazing! I want to highlight that it is wheel chair accessible. The ground is flat and you can easily roll onto the main play structure. Playground: The playground at the campsite is amazing! I want to highlight that it is wheel chair accessible. Very well maintained Campground and park! We really enjoyed our stay here. We will be back! Spacious spots for campers, well maintained restrooms, the park is perfect for kids of all ages because they have a toddler area and a big kid area! I like the composite wood chips because they aren't sharp and pokey.
Very well kept. Exceptional showers and restrooms. For an improved camp ground the sites are not as level as one might expect. Full hookups 30 and 50.
This is a great place to camp. You need to put reservations in early as it's a popular campground. Firewood was $6 a bundle when I was there. Playground: There is a huge playground that is handicapped accessible. Restrooms: Restrooms were clean whenever I went in. Dog-friendliness: I took my 2 dogs and didn't have any trouble with other campers or the host. I made sure to keep them on a leash because I assu.ed that was a rule.
This county campground features large sites with some trees. A mix of water/electric and full hook up sites. Bathhouse has that “municipal” feel but has large showers, good water pressure, and is clean. The playground is state of the art and worth a gander.
This was our First Time to camp in Loop B. It was a very nice camp spot. All spots are spacious & the Sunsets are beautiful. The fire pits could have been cleaned I cleaned out quite a bit of metal. Bathrooms have a great shower, however, watch Your step! Floor very slippery, where I think a mat or slippery when wet sign is needed. Lisa C.
We always wondered what the hype was all about a county campground right off two busy highways. We could never get a spot there because half the spots are booked online and regulars book them for the entire year and then half the time they sit empty. The other half is normally full by Thursday. We dropped at noon on a Thursday and got a great spot. Lots of space. Fairly quiet except for some road noise. Above average fire pit. It only had water and electricity, but the shower house and bathrooms are nice and well maintained. Just had to take one star away because of the reservation system. Otherwise the trails are great, firewood is a grood value and the view from our spot was outstanding.
This is such a beautifully maintained and clean campground. Also has a cement pad, clean picnic table and bathrooms spotless also. Only there one night as we're on a long trip. We got bikes out and took a nice ride!
Went on some bike trails. Just loved being visited by a neighboring cat. She made missing mine not so much. The changing leaves made the scenery just gorgeous. Only downfall was that we parked our camper next to a bees nestdidn't like us much the next day.
Wide open spaces, full hookups, concrete pads, what more could you want! Loop A sites are nearly all full hookups, many of which are pull - thru sites. Loop B sites are equally beautiful but they just don't have sewer. Altho this cg is 30 minutes from the Amana Colonies, it is SO much nicer than the Amana RV Park which, from the outside, looks like a used car lot with sites on top of each other. We LOVED the spacious sites and the full hookups for $35/night. Don't look for a pool or other fancy KOA amenities, but if you value a beautifully laid-out campground, you'll love Wanatee Park.
