The place is a small but big enough to hold large groups if needed. The place reminds me of an old school diner. The service was friendly and seems family run and oriented. It’s a very comfortable place to eat. I had the Arroyo Burrito and it was very good. I also added hash brown +$2 to the meal. The burrito was large and pretty filling. It was tasty and with plenty of flavor. I added some sausage gravy, which made it pop for me. It did cost me $3 extra for the gravy, which seemed a bit high for the small but adequate amount of gravy. Additionally, the hash brown was not what I expected for a home style restaurant. The other photo is of the Turkey Bacon Cheddar. Which I can’t really comment besides it was said to be good.
Tried for the first time this morning. Seated pretty quickly. Service was kind and welcoming. I got the chocolate chip pancakes combo with a side of biscuits and gravy. My mother got French toast and the West Side omelette. My pancakes were delicious, home fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, bacon was crispy, eggs perfect. I think these might have been the best biscuits and gravy I have ever had. So full of flavor and the biscuits were to die for. My moms French toast was so thick and yummy, our waitress even included a side of just strawberries for her. Food took a little longer than expected but everything is made from scratch and they were pretty busy so completely understandable. Highly, highly recommend if you’re looking for a good little breakfast spot.
I tried Square One Breakfast & Bakery for the first time. The homefries are delicious - yummy garlicky flavor. The strawberries and cream stuffed inside toast was good but I disappointed myself because I thought it was French toast. My husband said his omelet was good. Did not enjoy the cinnamon roll because it did not have any cinnamon flavor at all. Price seemed about average for costs today.
We tried this place this morning after hearing some decent things about it. I got the cinnamon roll pancakes which were absolutely amazing. Another reviewer said that they were too sweet, but I did not find this to be the case at all. I thought they were very well balanced for a sweet dish. My daughter got the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was good, but her biscuit was incredibly dry. My wife got the Swuare One crossiant sandwich which was good, but not necessarily amazing. Overall we were pretty pleased, but the prices seemed quite high for the quality of food and atmosphere. There are cheaper options in the greater Lansing area with better food in my opinion. If we were nearby, we would probably stop in again but would not go out of our way to eat here… at least for their current prices..
Nice spot in the Hannah Plaza. We visited for breakfast. My breakfast burrito was not very warm but it tasted alright. My wife likes her dish and my daughter's strawberry french toast was incredible! It was pretty busy but we were seated quickly. Our server was very nice, but not very attentive; possibly due to the number of guests. We'll visit again!
Ellen at Square One did an amazing job with a catering order! A giant salad, sandwiches, chips and amazing cookies! The food was fresh, delicious and a crowd pleaser. I highly recommend using Square One for your next catering order!
The bacon bravocado on the croissant was an excellent sandwich. The blueberry pancakes were average. Wish they had real maple syrup as an option. Biscuits and gravy were average at best.
French toast on house made challah is my gold standard for a menu item at any diner style university town breakfast joint. French toast was delicious, beautiful, and cheap. Coffee was fresh and hot. Great chill restaurant for sitting one with a laptop or getting breakfast with a friend. I imagine it gets busy on Sunday’s, but on a Thursday late morning - this cozy Resturant was very inviting.
Excellent breakfast, handmade muffins, cinnamon rolls and coffee! Great locally owned spot in East Lansing to grab breakfast or lunch ! The herb cream cheese is amazing- can’t wait to come back for more !
Just went here with my husband, sister, and brother-in-law. We all ordered something different and they were all delicious meals but our favorite was definitely the cinnamon roll pancakes. We will definitely be going back for seconds.
