Zen Buddhist micro-hostel for outdoor enthusiasts and students

Story

Downtown location, next to a park, library and bus stop on the block, walking distance to everything you need, five-minute walk to the harbour, bird sanctuary or shopping center.

We have a brick patio for BBQ, a small lawn, a covered deck for equipment storage, a cedar lined bathroom, bunks that are not stacked, clean, spartan, safe and quiet.

Small, very clean and friendly hostel but no cooking privileges. However, delicious meals will be prepared for you for only $7! We were very impressed that they offered vegan cuisine. Has nice yard and places to sit outside. We also participated in a Zen Buddhist meditation, for which there is a peaceful meditation room! My sister and I enjoyed our stay very much - would highly recommend!

Cozy and clean, with a shared washroom and free toiletries. Meditation room for quiet moments and yoga. Free breakfast of an egg, toasted bun with jam and fruit, with coffee or tea. Walking distance to several pubs and downtown shopping in Squamish. Short drive to outdoor climbing areas.

Small but cosy place, well located. The host is very friendly and will prepare breakfast for you (you cannot use the kitchen). Ask for the secret patio, perfect to enjoy a beer under the stars in the summer! Could have 5 stars if the mattress was more comfortable (pretty thin)

I booked this hostel over the phone and when I arrived the guy who was in charge told me I had no room until the evening. Check in was 9am. I felt very uncomfortable there as there was nowhere to sit and relax, the rooms had no doors on them and felt a weird vibe coming off the guy. He was far too into my personal space, argumentative and not welcoming at all. I told the guy his behavior was not ok, not to touch me and he kept on getting creepier by the minute. I left & think I dodge a bullet!

I appreciated my overnight stay with the very kind host. The location is in the Squamish town, but there isn't really much to do there. Although advertised as a hostel, this stay is more similar to an Airbnb except shared with other people. The property is a house with street side parking and one bathroom with a bed locker. Okay for stopovers if you don't require comforts and luxury, but certainly not a hostel environment.
