Good experience! Food is good and portion is big. Price is fair. Menu has several classic American options. Usually crowded on weekends specially if you want to seat outside. Try to make a reservation beforehand. Service is also good, waiters explain all in details and are available to answer any questions.
Loved stopping by the Spotted Horse Tavern while shopping in town for the day. We shared Brussel sprouts, meatball egg rolls, & fried calamari. The patio was lovely, staff was friendly, professional, & attentive. The wine list was wonderful. We had a rose and a pinot Grigio. We would definitely return for lunch and sometime would love to try dinner. Their menu options were vast and looked delicious. Everyone in the restaurant young & mature were raving!
Food is wonderful but the service is non existent. We were here early and there were only about 4 tables. The waiter never came back to our table after delivering our food. We actually had to go up to the bar to get more wine. The bartender, Steve was great!
The food is good, large variety, however they don't have many GF options aside from a salad or taco. Drinks are tasty, definitely recommend the roe and co whiskey.
Great service very attentive and thoughtful/considerate, which never goes unnoticed and the tavern has a cool vibe. Came for the food though and just overall wasn’t impressed - and we were very hungry too. Ordered the meatball spring rolls as a starter which I’d go so far as to not recommend. Not terrible but not worth it. We also got the Calamari which was a large portion four adults split and came with three dipping sauces. A soy based sauce, tartar sauce, and a marinara sauce. This was really good and I think we all enjoyed it. For entrees, I got the black truffle burger and my wife got the barn burger. I had high expectations for the BTB but it really wasn’t anything special. It was a decent size but really similar to any American burger. Wife also just said hers was just fine. My fries were over cooked to the point that once they cooled down they were hard. It’s a rare occasion that I don’t finish my fries but I probably left half of them. RIP. My wife’s sweet potato fries were good though.
Apple Tart with ice cream always brings me back to Spotted Horse. The lively atmosphere, the music and a delicious menu makes this place super awesome. I highly recommend it.Food: 5/5
My wife, a friend and I had a really good lunch at the Spotted Horse in Westport. On the table we had tuna tacos, a Cobb Salad and a burger and all were devoured happily. The location and weather were great, the service was very good and the prices were reasonable. This was our first time there, so if there's a repeat performance we'll add a star.
One of the worst experiences I’ve had eating out in every single way from top to bottom. Others were disgruntled too everywhere I turned my head. Food is disgusting, waiter was awful and there were PLENTY milling around, atmosphere is terrible. You’ll wait 1.5 - 2 plus hours to get your food and everything will be wrong and forgotten. Waiter picks his nose… I don’t want to rant too much. Just don’t go. I have experience owning and managing restaurants too so I feel bad doing this and am very patient and understanding. This place is as bad as it gets. I went about a month ago and the whole experience still doesn’t sit well with me. We still talk about how comically bad the place is… Feels like everything BUT a tavern on top of it. I felt like I was at a cheesy Euro disco with awful food.
Had a truffle burger and sweet potato fries on the trip back from Boston to New Jersey with my teammates. 10/10. Service was incredible. Water refills came around frequently and timely. The decor was hip. There was a picture of a spotted horse too.Food: 5/5
Tasty food, great presentation, warm ambiance and attentive customer service at the spotted horse tavern. Freon the amazing simple yet warm and inviting decor to the well prepared, flavor rich dishes, you will never be disappointed. Try the pretzels, Reuben and the tuna tacos. Solid 5 stars, wer will be coming back.
