Although I arrived just about closing, Memo, the staff person, was great! Very attentive and didn't rush me at all. He even let me stay a bit last closing. Great drinks and the food is very very good. Next time I'm in the area I'll be sure to stop by!Food: 5/5
The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I ordered the Red Fish based on their recommendation. The description of the nachos made it difficult for me not to order and the presentation and taste did NOT disappoint my palate. The bathrooms were clean and fresh. I would definitely return and recommend the Allgauer's Restaurant.
There's NOTHING nice about this place. It's an old hotel's old restaurant/lounge. I've stayed here 5 times for work, and tried something different each time breakfast and dinner and have yet to find something that was worth paying hotel restaurant prices for. Last night? Mango Chipotle Glazed Meatloaf. Sounds yummy, right? Not. Even. Close! Turns out that glaze is some kind of coating that was applied by the factory that turned out what was truly an oval-shaped 'loaf' of processed meat that was simply warmed by the culinary artists that work the kitchen of Allgauer's. After a couple of bites, I remembered there was supposed to be some flavor to whatever it was that I was eating, so I asked for some extra Mango Chipotle sauce, after returning from the kitchen empty-handed, my server informed me that there was no sauce, and that it was a cussing in the meat before it was 'cooked' - I told him there was zero flavor or spice in my meal. He simply walked away...
My wife and I were doing some shopping in the area and wanted to grab a bite somewhere we hadn't been before. Looking on Google maps, we saw this place...and then realized it was inside the Doubletree. We decided to give it a try... PROs: Great staff: Attentive, friendly, funny. Food was amazing. Definitely wasn't expecting it to be that good considering where this d@mn restaurant was located. Steak was cooked perfectly. Great presentation. Piping hot. Just really well put together. CONs: Very small seating area. Picture a large walk-in closet with a bar & stools. No speciality drink menu - though it was a full service bar. No hostess to seat you. We almost turned around and walked out had it not been for a friendly drunk lady possibly more drunk than friendly that told us we could sit and someone would wait on us. Drinks were just ok. They were strong, which doesn't seems like something to complain about...but they seem hastily thrown together. I guess if the goal is to get a little wasted then the drinks were perfect. All in all, the food seemed way above its class compared to the ambience. Almost a shame it was served in such a place. And it's not that place was bad - it wasn't. It just didn't match the level of the food. So I would say the food was FIVE stars...but the setting was a TWO or THREE. Definitely would go again tho!
It has the essentials. Decent for drinks, but I would probably grab food somewhere else unless it's a large inconvenience to leave the hotel.
Very nice, not the resturant we thought it was. It is closed but just the lounge is used now. Excellent food and service.Food: 5/5
