Story

The Splendid Essence is a congregation of all kinds of beauty and splendor inside an exquisite cottage.
The restaurant on the first floor offers trendy and gourmet vegetable dishes and an assortment of Chinese teas and beverages in a cozy and congenial atmosphere.
The bright and delightful space on the second floor offers facinating classes, lectures and exhibitions to enrich your life.
The third floor is an elegant Buddhist praying hall.

Splendid Essence has delicious vegetarian food in a pleasant, calming atmosphere. I've been going here for years and it is always a treat. I find the prices very reasonable. I recommend getting a milk tea - hot or cold.

My favorite restaurant in PEI! The food is always excellent, the portions are generous, and it's very reasonably priced. We've had almost every vegan item on the menu, my husband and I loved them all! The service is great, all the people who work there are so sweet and always greet you with a smile.

I'm not a vegetarian or vegan but I still frequently go to Splendid Essence as their food is delicious!

Terrific all-vegetarian (and mostly vegan) fare. Lots of great choices in evolving menu. One of a kind in Charlottetown!

Splendid Essence is rated very highly, and they come by it honestly. The food is consistently delicious as well as very interesting and authentic - this is not a chow mein and chicken balls kind of joint. It's 100% vegetarian, but so good that even a meat eater like me loves it. There is a great variety of hot and cold tea as well. The service is unfailingly kind, friendly and competent and the atmosphere is beautiful. On top of all that, it is very affordable. This is a must-visit restaurant in Charlottetown.
