I use services of Spirit Bear Construction at my new home and at the Business I look after for last 4 years. Jakub is a kind of a builder that is very difficult to find in Canada. He doesn't just go to get the job done and move on, but he takes pride in his work and it is always very obvious on the final product. Very high quality and extraordinary attention to detail. It is also super easy to plan the project with his help because he will offer multiple solutions and explain every detail in a way that you can find the best quality-price ratio that fits your needs before the project is started. I highly recommend Jakub and Spirit Bear Construction for any construction project. Choosing him for a job is always a straight forward decision.

Jakub at Spirit Bear completely renovated our 1960s house in Canmore. He built the walls out to 6 inches and insulated everywhere, replaced several windows, installed hardwood flooring, rebuilt all kitchen cabinets and painted the whole interior. He has also replaced a decaying upper deck, and rebuilt and reshingled our roof. All work was done perfectly, on time, on budget and with great attention to every detail. Excellent work!

Had 3 contractors quote a kitchen installation and ended up going with Spirit Bear based on Jakub's pre work assessment about important structural/functional considerations as well as proposals to implement cost saving measures into the project. Additionally Jakub got back to me with a quote within 2 days and communication with him throughout the project was prompt and efficient. Was very impressed with Jakub's work; project was on time (if not completed slightly earlier than expected), on quoted budget, and most importantly, looked spectacular. Due to wanting to move some areas around, I hadn't left Jakub with much space but him and his wife surpassed my expectations with the final result. Wouldn't hesitate to use Spirit Bear in the future or recommend to friends. Dave

Beginning about eight years ago, Jakub worked on many of the interior and exterior finishing aspects of my straw bale home in southern British Columbia. From the very start, I was impressed with Jakub's work ethic and integrity, and I employed him over several years as my vision of a rustic Italian villa came together. Jakub skillfully and efficiently handled a myriad of tasks, from laying tiles (floors and walls, kitchen and bathroom), to installing all cabinetry--and building innovative, matching components from scratch to complement the existing units--to creating stunning visual effects in wood-beamed ceilings, plaster-finished walls, and rustic doors. No task was too big or too small, and Jakub proved to be a Jack-of-all-trades (and Master of all those he tackled), adding wood and tile and plaster accents on walls and floors, and applying plaster and tile finishes to the masonry stove in keeping with the Italian villa look I wanted. Finish carpentry, installation of lighting fixtures, window and door mouldings--every task was completed with tremendous attention to detail; the vision came together under his skilled, conscientious efforts. Outside, Jakub completed key elements to the front entry and terraces to continue the rustic villa look already in place indoors. I could not have asked for a better artisan builder (for that is what Jakub is, in my opinion) to help me bring my vision to life. Visitors are greatly impressed with the overall effect that has been achieved, and I am able to extol Jakub's virtues without hesitation. I highly recommend Jakub's work, and do so at every opportunity.
