My colleague and I were looking for a place to eat for dinner. We stumbled to Spicy Thai by chance and we were glad it happened. The food was just phenomenal. We ordered the basil shrimp and tofu cashew entree. We also tried a chip appetizer, which was on the house. What was great was the spice level. We wanted the meals to be extra spicy and they certainly did just that. This place is a definite big hit.
We went for lunch. The place is nice and cozy. Host/server was friendly and attentive. The food was tasty and for a change, the spice level was good. The homemade chili oil was spicy and added good flavor. Highly recommend this place and we will come back again when we are on this side.
I was excited to eat here based on the other google reviewers. The disappointment started as soon as we arrived. No parking so hopefully you can find a spot on the street. The prices are a little high, and portions are on small side. Wonton soup left much to be desired. It was like sipping the water you just boiled pasta in and then added herbs for flavor. The wontons were OK but it seems like cilantro is thrown into everything as the main source of flavor. We ordered two main courses dishes, one with medium spicy and one with full. They came backwards so the person wishing to enjoy the medium spice had to endure the full on spicy. Long story short for $73 none of really enjoyed the meal. The thai iced teas were good and the vegetables and herbs were all fresh.
Such great Thai food! Some of the most authentic I’ve ever had. The Tuesday special is also such a great deal!
Delicious food!!! Really friendly staff This is a hidden gem!! When we went there it was not crowded at all. We tried Calamari and fried dumplings for appetizer, Bangkok style pad thai and a duck curry with rice for the main dish. They are really big dishes. AMAZING food!!! Highly recommend this place There is free parking nearby
We got Spicy Thai for take out and it was fabulous. The food is so fresh and the flavour is perfect. We crave it again just a week later! They did not skimp out on the chicken and shrimp in our dishes. Despite being quite busy in the restaurant when I picked up my order, the staff were super friendly and made sure I was taken care of. The only downside is that take out is pickup only! But I still wouldn't change that 5 star rating because it is worth the drive. Thanks for a great meal Spicy Thai!
All the Thai flavours are spot on, with options to have each dish spicy to your liking. Well portioned, reasonable pricing and The presentation when your dishes comes out...is amazing. There are so many dishes to choose from. Reservations is a must as this place gets busy. The staff here are super friendly and are attentive to every detail. If you can’t eat in, order take out. A must try if your looking for authentic Thai cuisine. Best Thai restaurant in Niagara. Parking is bit hassle but you can park along the sidewalks and walk.
We were pretty hungry and waited for this place to open on our way back from Niagara. Saw the red door in a photo and the extremely high ratings including that this is the best Thai place. ordered a variety of dishes and spent over $100. This was easier to do than would have liked as the prices were on the higher side. However we tried it out and were craving thai. Had trouble finding parking. Wanted to love it and excited we found a place to grab food on route but each dish we tried did not taste as good as it looked, almost bland. Maybe this was just our experience but would not go back. This place has stopped me from picking a restaurant based on reviews.
Great little place. Neighborhood may seem sketchy but don't let that deter you from what I think is a worth thai spot. That being said, we parked at the closed business after hours no problem. Along the street is fine too as long as you don't block driveways. The place has limited space so on weekends including Friday, we were told it is best to make reservations for large groups. We had 8 people ambushing the restaurant unannounced. Luckily it was on a Thursday and they could squeeze us in and accommodate us. The waiter was absolutely on point and friendly. Most of the food was great, especially the fried rice and duck curry. Tom yum could use a little more punch and substance and the pad Thai could use a little more lime and fried eggs. But the food overall was satisfying. I recommend you try. It was worth the 15 mins drive from the touristy Niagara Falls area for us. Vegetarian options: Can forgo meat protein for tofu or only vegetables for most meals. Vegetarian options are as numerous as what's on the menu. Kid-friendliness: Had booster seats and high chairs. We had two toddlers during our visit. Parking: Parking can be hard on busy days but there are many on the street parking spaces and nearby business you can park and walk over. Dinner parking is much easier as most businesses closed and no street hour-restriction. Dietary restrictions: If you have peanut allergies, make sure to tell them to cook how you like it. No peanuts, peanuts to the side etc. The kitchen is very accommodating.
We always enjoy our visits to Spicy Thai, we have been going their since they opened some 20 years ago. They have the best Crab Rangoon, and wontons available in the city. The food is always fresh and hot. The wait staff has been very efficient on our last few visits. Thank you all for your service.
