Story

Spice Hut Ladysmith is an East Indian restaurant new to Vancouver Island, with a mission to provide quality food and service. Our menu features a wide range of curries and tandoori dishes with a focus on authentic taste.

Dishes can be prepared as mild or spicy as the patron prefers. Gluten-free and vegan/vegetarian-friendly options are available, and your server can provide more information where food allergies are concerned.

At Spice Hut we strive to provide quality service that is warm and welcoming. It's a great place to bring family and friends, and we're always happy to see the little ones too! In regards to younger diners, your server can help you determine which dishes are more appropriate.

Stopped into Spice Hut for the first time while passing through Ladysmith and decided to grab lunch on my own. I’ve always wanted to try it, had heard so many good things, and honestly — the hype absolutely lived up to it.nnThe food was fantastic — full of flavour and clearly made with care. The portions were huge, the service was spectacular, and the restaurant was very clean and comfortable.nnSuch a great experience from start to finish. I’ll definitely be going out of my way to come back next time I’m in the area. Highly recommend!
The server Nadiya was absolutely amazing, made my time there so enjoyable and awesome, CANT STRESS THAT ENOUGH. She was so kind and spoke to everyone at my table with such care. Would recommend anyone to go here if they want a good meal and a good time.
Stopped by Spice Hut and was pleasantly surprised. The service was quick and very friendly. The biryani had great flavor and aroma, the butter chicken was perfectly creamy, and the prawns and tikka boti were tender and delicious. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. I’d gladly come back again!
We were there with a large group and called them in advance. We ordered separately, mostly biryani and karahi. Our order got mixed up with spicy and non-spicy food. Some of my friends were missing plates and water until we had to tell them. No one came to ask how the food was or if we needed water. The girl who was working alone tried her best, but with a large group, she was confused. The lady who came for the second shift was kind of blaming us, asking why we didn't call even though we had called in advance and had an argument with my friends.nThe food was great, no complaints about it.nOverall, the service was awful.nIf you can't handle 10-12 guests at a time, how are you going to run a business?
I ordered the chicken korma, medium spice level with some garlic naan.nnThe curry was good, but it was way too spicy, it tasted spicy hot when I ordered medium. Garlic naan was good. The meal was decent but it’s priced pretty high.nnI’m not sure if I’ll come back. Maybe?
